Dark Funeral launch video for “Unchain My Soul”!‏

Only a few days before the Swedish black metal juggernaut will unleash its highly anticipated new album, Where Shadows Forever Reign, DARK FUNERAL have now launched a video for their new track “Unchain My Soul”!

“With ice cold precision, ‘Where Shadows Forever Reign’ mills itself right into the auditory canals. Here rules the bitterly cold, yet sinister blazing fire of Swedish black metal. Or, to put it in their own words: ‘Nail them to the cross / angels weep / nail them to the cross / eradicate god’!” – 7/7 Metal Hammer (DE)

“Where Shadows Forever Reign is a thick cloud of terror pushing against the listener. The fear is real. Something terrible is happening in the atmosphere, and Dark Funeral are once again on top of it.” – New Noise Magazine (US)

Where Shadows Forever Reign will be released on June 3rd, 2016 via Century Media Records!

Lamb Of God Rage Furious And Frantic At The Fox Theater in Oakland, California

I have seen Lamb of God a number of times over the years. From the incredibly drunk Randy Blythe who couldn’t remember the lyrics to one of the bands most popular songs Redneck, to a stone cold sober monster on stage vocally destroying all who stand before him. On May 29th in Oakland California at The Fox Theater, the latter is exactly what the crowd got.

With the opening acts consisting of Corrosion of Conformity and Clutch it almost felt like that pairing was done on purpose to bring the excitement level up a few more notches for Lamb of God. Don’t get me wrong, if you are a COC or Clutch fan more power to you because there were a lot of you there and the crowd really seemed to enjoy the two bands. In this humble writers opinion it didn’t work. For me out of both bands the highlight of either ones set was when the Metal God and riff master himself James Hetfield came out and played a tune with COC, besides from that I personally wasn’t too impressed with either bands set, but I digress.

Lets talk about Lamb of God. Going into the show I knew what to expect from this veteran band out of Richmond “Mother fucking” Virginia as Randy always says and the fans and I got just that. With John Campbell on bass and Chris Adler on drums  (where he belongs….not in Megadeth)  holding down a constant booming sound in the rhythm section it made it easy for Mark and Willie to do what they do best which is shred.  As I mentioned earlier since Randy has been sober he is beyond focused and has so much energy it makes him one of the most entertaining front men and he has never sounded better. His vocal power is right where it should be with the full range of screams we have all come to know and appreciate from the Lamb of God front man. The night was full of old and new songs ranging from Hourglass and and The Faded Line off of their Certified Gold album Ashes Of The Wake to newer tunes like 512 and Anthropoid off their latest release V11: Strum Und Drang. It was an all around solid set list.

It took me a long time to get in to Lamb of God, my younger Brother Ben tried for years to get me to like them and i just couldn’t. Then one day it clicked, I knew why I wasn’t digging them, I couldn’t put them in a certain genre of Metal and that bothered me. They weren’t Thrash, or Death, or Speed, they were just Metal. Now I look at them as one of the most consistent heavy live bands out there. Through everything this band has been through over the years they have remained together since the mid 90’s and i see no sign of them slowing down. Good for you Lamb of God, the world needs more Metal bands like you.  Gene A. Gaona

Discharge forced to reschedule U.S. tour‏

UK-based hardcore punk legends DISCHARGE have been forced to cancel their U.S. headlining tour, which was scheduled to kick-off tomorrow at the Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore.

“Due to circumstances beyond our control, our visas have been delayed and we are forced to postpone the immediately forthcoming tour dates in North America,” states the band. “FEAR NOT, however, as we are working diligently to reschedule these shows as QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE, and we WILL fulfill all shows. All tickets will be honored. Please stand by as we will announce new performance dates in the next few days!”

DISCHARGE are a British hardcore punk band formed in 1977. The band is characterized by a minimalistic approach to music and lyrics. A heavy, distorted and grinding guitar-driven sound and raw, shouted vocals similar to a political speech, with lyrics on anarchistic and pacifistic themes.

AllMusic calls the band’s sound a “high-speed noise overload” characterised by “ferocious noise blasts”. The band’s 1982 debut album, Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing, went to number two in the UK Indie Charts and number 40 in the UK Album Charts. In the early 1980s, numerous DISCHARGE singles and EPs landed in the top 10 of the UK Indie Charts, including the 1981 EP Why? and the 1982 single ‘State Violence State Control’. Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing paved the way for thrash metal, black metal, crust punk, grindcore and various extreme metal subgenres. The musical genre of d-beat is named after DISCHARGE and their distinctive drumbeat.
DISCHARGE released their new album End Of Days, on May 13 in North America.

California’s Heavy Metal machine, NIGHT DEMON are stoked to present a live video for their deliciously nostalgic take on the Golden Earring classic, “Radar Love”!

A first rate sneak peek into the DEMON live, this rare cover exudes classic metal mastery, whilst simultaneously paying homage to influencers and ushering in a new wave of heavy; creating an intimate fan experience fresh from the stage.

“Radar Love is a cover rarely played by the band. It first appeared as a live version on the expanded edition of our first EP from the first ever Night Demon show. The only other time it was performed was at the drummer of Golden Earring’s club in The Hague, Netherlands on our last European tour. We had a recent request in Cleveland from one of our most diehard fans “Jim Nostra-Demon Bartek” to bust it out live for him. The video proof is here, and the song has since found a regular spot in the Night Demon set for the remaining dates of the Final Curse tour.” states NIGHT DEMON’s Jarvis Leatherby.
Following “The Final Curse” tour, NIGHT DEMON’s summer of shred continues with the “One Foot In The Grave” tour featuring CARCASS with special guests CROWBAR and GHOUL. Upcoming tour dates below with more to be announced!

Death Angel release music video for “Lost”‏

405

San Francisco Bay Area thrash legends, DEATH ANGEL, will release their eighth studio album, The Evil Divide, worldwide on May 27, 2016 via Nuclear Blast Records.Today, the band has released a music video for the track “Lost”.. The clip was directed and edited by Tommy Jones for Videohammer Studios.

Comments vocalist Mark Osegueda:
“The song ‘Lost’ is very personal to me and I believe it will resonate with many. As one who has been fortunate enough to be raised In the San Francisco Bay Area (an extremely diverse region), I have made friends with people from every religion, race, sexual orientation, and genre of music fan! One thing that no one can escape, no matter what one’s beliefs are, or how well you were raised, or educated, is that one point in your life that you felt apart, or alone.
“It is an awful and disparaging feeling. Some are fortunate enough to have only experienced a fleeting moment of that empty feeling. More often than not though, it’s much longer than a fleeting moment, and time moves no slower than when stuck in that feeling. I myself am not immune to that human experience.
“I find the best release for me, and what makes me feel as though I belong / am doing something right / have a quality of life that is not measured by a monetary system, is creating music!
“This song is for and about all who have ever been trapped in that dark hole of your own mind. This is ‘Lost’! You are not alone!”
Adds Jones:
“When i first spoke to Mark about the lyrical context of the song, I realized that he was coming from 3 different mindsets, or 3 different narratives that would lead someone to feeling ‘Lost’. So there was a challenge to represent these 3 scenarios into the video for the song. They were pretty heavy, current social topics in the form of religious extremism, a bad relationship riddled with drug and physical abuse, and cyber and school bullying. Each of these situations, could make a person feel ‘Lost’ as to what’s right or what’s wrong, or a sense of being trapped in a situation that in your mind you know is wrong, but being stuck in it, makes you feel ‘Lost’. I also wanted the band to seem ‘Lost’ as if they were nowhere. So the setting of the video is that they are in complete never ending blackness.”The rain was a necessity. With the power that Mark is belting out the lyrics ‘rain down on me’, it was a no brainier, I saw it in my head and needed to have him singing that last chorus in the rain. So we made it rain, yo!”

Receive “Lost”, “Hatred United / United Hate”, “Cause For Alarm”, “The Moth” when you pre-order The Evil Divide digitally via iTunes, Amazon and Google.

The Evil Divide was once again recorded at AudioHammer studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Jason Suecof (TRIVIUM, DEICIDE), who previously worked on 2010’s Relentless Retribution and 2013’s The Dream Calls For Blood. Mastering duties were handled by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound in New York City. Artwork was created by Bob Tyrrell.

Three decades into their celebrated career, DEATH ANGEL remain as hungry as ever.

As a result, uncompromising urgency and unpredictability define the Bay Area thrash quintet’s eighth full-length album, The Evil Divide [Nuclear Blast]. The group—Mark Osegueda [vocals], Rob Cavestany [lead guitar], Ted Aguilar [guitar], Will Carroll [drums], and Damien Sisson [bass]—satiate the appetite for buzzsaw speed riffs, double bass mayhem, and scorching vocals over the course of ten new anthems.

The Evil Divide stands out as the culmination of thirty-plus years of music for DEATH ANGEL. It kicked off with legendary debut, The Ultra-Violence, in 1987. The classic Frolic Through The Park began to cement their legacy and even earned the distinction of landing on Loudwire’s list of the “Top Ten Thrash Albums NOT Released by The Big 4.” The group broke up following 1990’s Act III only to reunite in 2004 on Art of Dying for the next generation.

In 2008, DEATH ANGEL teamed with producer Nick Raskulinecz [Foo Fighters, Alice In Chains, Rush, Mastodon] for Killing Season recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606. In 2010, Relentless Retribution boasted a cameo from virtuosos Rodrigo y Gabriela, while 2013’s The Dream Calls For Blood bowed at #72 on the Billboard Top 200, selling 5,400 copies first-week and earning the group’s first-ever entry onto that respective chart.

Beyond continued public praise from the likes of James Hetfield of Metallica and Robb Flynn of Machine Head, the band’s music has popped up everywhere from Carl’s Jr. commercials to Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III. Their fire burns brighter than ever in 2016.
