New Video Premiere From Seeker

On October 14th, SEEKER will release their new album Loss, in conjunction with their upcoming tour starting October 15th. Today, Metal Injection debuts the gritty new video for “Void.”

“Everything about this video is exactly the vision we had for it,” admits front-man/guitarist Bryce Lucien. “’Void’ is our favorite song from the album and this is definitely the most excited that we’ve ever been about one of our music videos. Filming was really intense, and we got to try a lot of things and take a lot of chances that we think made this into something very special.”

Cited by Metal Hammer as “an explosive and brilliantly vicious assault of grinding nihilism,” Loss was recorded by Zach Ohren, known for his work with Chelsea Grin and Fallujah, and the artwork comes in the form of a hand drawn, custom piece by Farron Loathing (Nails, Huntress). Lucien continues, “We’ve spent nearly three years working on this album and can’t wait for everyone to hear it. Expect the darkest, fastest, and most chaotic music that we’ve ever written.”
Loss pre-order packages are available now at VictoryMerch.com and include an instant download of the first single “Rot.”

Hannes Grossmann Premieres Drum Play through Video for “To Sow The Seeds of Earth”

German musical virtuoso Hannes Grossmann (Alkaloid, Blotted Science, Hate Eternal, ex-Obscura, ex-Necrophagist) has released a drum play through video for the track “To Sow The Seeds of Earth” from his recently released album The Crypts Of Sleep. The clip is streaming via Sick Drummer Magazine who recently featured Hannes on the cover of their March/April issue

After successfully crowdsourcing the funds to independently release his critically acclaimed debut album The Radial Covenant in 2014, Grossmann decided to follow the same approach for his much anticipated follow-up, The Crypts of Sleep and successfully raised over 12,000 euros to self-release the album.

The new album was entirely written, arranged, self-recorded and self-produced by Grossmann between September 2015 and June 2016 at his own Mordor Sounds studio in Veitsbronn, Germany. Besides drum session work and producing his own music, Grossmann also works at the studio on recordings, mixes and full productions for other artists.

Grossmann plays drums on the entire album and enlisted the the help of numerous all-stars in the extreme music scene including Danny Tunker (Alkaloid, Abhorrent, ex-Aborted) – Rhythm and Lead Guitars, Linus Klausenitzer (Obscura, Alkaloid, Noneuclid) – Bass, Morean (Alkaloid, Dark Fortress, Noneuclid) – Vocals, Christian Muenzner (Spawn of Possession, ex-Obscura, ex-Necrophagist) – Lead Guitars, Fountainhead (ex-Obscura, Despotic) – Lead Guitars, Per Nilsson (Scar Symmetry) – Lead Guitars, and Erik Rutan (ex-Morbid Angel, Hate Eternal) – Lead Guitars.

Sacramento’s The Kennedy Veil Announce New Vocalist, Prepare To Enter Studio

Sacramento, California’s modern death metal extremists, The Kennedy Veil, have welcomed a brand new vocalist to their ranks. Monte Barnard, best known for his time spent as the high energy front man for tech-death shredders Alterbeast, as well as his live stints with Aussie deathcore titans Thy Art Is Murder, will take the reigns as the new front man for The Kennedy Veil moving forward.

Monte had the following to say about joining TKV:

I could not be more excited to be working with The Kennedy Veil. I’ve known these guys for years and played with all of their respective projects prior to TKV. As a whole they make up one of the hardest working, most driven bands in the industry, never compromising. I have been somewhat of a hired gun for different projects over the last few years so when they approached me to be the new permanent vocalist I instantly agreed. The chance to put my creative stamp on such strong material with my close friends would be moronic to pass up. We’ve matured as musicians from different backgrounds and influences that mixed together are creating a truly memorable album. I can’t wait to show the world what we’ve been crafting and to hit the road in 2017. Hails!
The Kennedy Veil had the following to say about having Monte join the band, as well as their amicable parting with former vocalist, Taylor Wientjes: “We know people have been asking, so to clear things up and squash any potential rumors, we parted ways with Taylor earlier this summer due solely to creative differences. There is no bad blood and we are all still friends. Taylor is the permanent vocalist for Inanimate Existence, and we are great friends with all of them as well and wish them and Taylor all the best. Having said that, we are super excited to announce that Monte Barnard has joined us as our permanent vocalist moving forward. Monte is a beast and we’re definitely stoked to have him laying down vocals on the new record and bringing his high energy stage presence to our live shows as well. We’re all from the same general areas in and around Sacramento and have been fans of his work for years, and we can’t wait to see how his high level of energy and creative approach to lyrics will help push us to the next level in the realm of death metal. 2017 is definitely ushering in a brand new, extra brutal era for The Kennedy Veil and we look forward to hitting the road again and seeing you all soon!
The Kennedy Veil with Monte at the helm, will make their live debut on October 15, 2016 at the Zombie Ball in Lake Tahoe, CA supporting heavy hitters Cattle Decapitation (Metal Blade) and Mantar (Nuclear Blast). The Kennedy Veil are currently finishing up the writing process for the follow up to Trinity of Falsehood, and are set to hit the studio later this year, with tentative dates scheduled for late November and early December. TKV’s as-yet-untitled sophomore album will see a release in Spring 2017 via Unique Leader Records.

Asphyx debut “Forerunners Of The Apocalypse” video clip

Only about a week left to go until the long awaited new studio album Incoming Deathby Dutch Doom Death Metal division ASPHYX is released worldwide on September 30th, 2016 via Century Media Records. Therefore, ASPHYX are pleased to debut a promotional video clip for the new album’s track “Forerunners Of The Apocalypse” today!

Directed by Maurice Swinkels / Younique Film (Exodus, Kataklysm, etc.), who already worked on the “Deathhammer” clip by ASPHYX, and featuring conceptual illustrations by Roberto Toderico.

ASPHYX vocalist Martin van Drunen checked in with the following comment about the video: “Forerunners Of The Apocalypse” is the first official video from the “Incoming Death” album. Done on a hot Thursday night at the Turbinenhalle in Oberhausen, Germany, where massive credits go out to the crew there. Lots of sweat, beers, laughter and probably the loudest playback session ever in metal! Filmed and edited by the one and only Maurice Swinkels, who probably went deaf after this. A grand cheerz also goes out to Roberto Toderico for the great Mongol warrior drawings! It was the last track written for the album, about genocidal ruler Genghis Khan. Especially about the sacking of Urgench, where 1.2 million were decapitated without mercy. A fucken stampede of a headbanger, so break your necks on this one!”

The Dread Crew of Oddwood interviewed.

The Dread Crew of Oddwood‘s mighty landlocked Lawful Evil North American tour will see the band keelhauling audiences with this grog-soaked barrage in the flesh for thirty-three days between August 12th and September 30th. The itinerary is mixed with a wide array of standard music venues as well as Renaissance Faires. The four Canadian gigs and two in Florida will also see the outfit joined by Wilderun, and the opening show in Los Angeles on August 12th will include a special one-off West Coast set by fellow seafaring cohorts, Swashbuckle.

Declares the outfit’s Stark Cordwain on the upcoming raid, “We are returning to some of our favorite North American cities, armed to the beards with fresh acoustic antics! Lawful Evil is coming for you, so crack open a fine whiskey, get ready to party, and hold onto your butts!”

Gear Gods offers that Lawful Evil is, “A fully acoustic band playing pirate music that isn’t corny or too ren-fair-y – it’s just badass.” Angry Metal Guy commends the band as, “strong songwriters with a knack for hooks and effective time management.” We Love Metal’s praise-filled review includes, “The heaviness is there song after song, and although I’m not a big fan of comparing bands to one another, when it comes to THE DREAD CREW think of Dropkick Murphy’s drunk; kicking the shit out of Alestorm.” Cryptic Rock proclaimed, “Making the audience feel as if they were in the 1500s at a pub filled with rum-drunk pirates, their music was melodic with pounding drums and catchy choruses.” National Rock Review dubbed the record, “an entertainingly fun hour of some of the best folk metal you would ever hear,” and Toilet Ov Hell commends, “The lack of amps and electric instruments only strengthens the band’s throwback sound, allowing all the instruments time to shine.”

THE DREAD CREW OF ODDWOOD Lawful Evil 2016 remaining tour dates..

9/24/2016 Dirty Dog – Austin, TX
9/27/2016 Yucca Taproom – Phoenix, AZ

Randy Blythe To Fill In For Mike IX Williams On Upcoming US Tour With Discharge And Toxic Holocaust

Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe will be filling in for EYEHATEGOD vocalist Mike IX Williams on their upcoming Fall tour with Discharge and Toxic Holocaust.
Elaborates Williams of the decision, “Once again, rather than cancel an amazing tour, we have chosen for EYEHATEGOD to continue on and give one-thousand-percent. This 2016 Discharge tour is super important to me as that band has been a huge influence on my life, but my health situation right now dictates that I am not able to take the stage and perform to the best of my abilities every single night. This is where our good friend Randy Blythe from Lamb Of God comes into the picture. We’ve known Randall since the early ’90s when EYEHATEGOD would pass through Virginia and he’d offer for us to crash at his crib after our gigs. Great times and we became great friends. To have Mr. Blythe on board as a fill in for me on vocals for this run is a true ‘circle-stays-unbroken’ turn of events! Coming off the heels of Philip Anselmo doing vocals for EYEHATEGOD on two high profile shows [last month’s performances at Southport Music Hall in New Orleans, Louisiana and the 2016 edition of Gwar BQ in Richmond, Virginia respectively], both of these men are at the top of their game. I am getting the medical help I need and will return to the band as soon as possible. Thank you, everybody… “
Adds Blythe, “Anyone who knows me well knows that I am a massive EYEHATEGOD fan. I’ve seen them play more times than I can remember, my old side project covered ‘Dixie Whiskey’ for an EYEHATEGOD tribute album, I wear their merch, I even have a freaking EYEHATEGOD tattoo that I got in New Orleans. They are one of my favorite bands of all time, period. I’ve also been friends with the guys in the band since the ’90s… actually, I knew them before I knew the dudes in my own band, and EYEHATEGOD would often crash at my crib when they came through Richmond. So it’s a bit difficult for me to say, ‘I’m super-happy that I’ve been asked to fill in for Mike IX Williams on this upcoming tour with Discharge and Toxic Holocaust.’ In fact, I can’t honestly say that at all because, once again as a fan and, more importantly, a friend, no one would rather see Mike do this tour more than myself. Mike IX is THE voice of EYEHATEGOD, and I respect him as a friend, musician, and writer way too much to ever think otherwise. What I can say is that I am beyond honored to be serving a brief tour of duty on vocals with EYEHATEGOD for this upcoming run.
When I was asked to fill in for Mike IX due to his health issues, I immediately said, ‘I’ll do it, as long as all of the guys in the band are cool with it, especially Mike; it can’t be any other way.’ I know from talking to him that Mike is very, very bummed to not be on this tour, especially given the fact that the legendary Discharge is one of his all-time favorite bands. In light of that fact alone, it’s a huge testament to the man’s character that he’s being gracious enough to let the band continue to work while he concentrates on his medical issues, which are entirely legitimate and prevent him from taking the stage night after night. The other guys need to keep the band alive while IX gets better. As anyone who has ever seen the band can attest, the stage of an EYEHATEGOD show isn’t exactly the ideal place to rest and recuperate from an illness, and that is the most important thing here: that Mike IX gets better. In order to both give him the time to take care of his health while simultaneously keepingEYEHATEGOD an active working unit, I’ll be proud to do my bit on this tour and take the stage with what is undeniably one of the heaviest bands on earth. It will be a savage experience; I can promise you that. Let the down-to-earth-motherfuckin’-post-amplification-blues begin! Hail Mike IX.”
EYEHATEGOD‘s journey with Discharge and Toxic Holocaust will commence on October 6th and run through October 15th trampling ten cities in seven states, the tour concluding with a one-off show in Chicago with Negative Approach and Svlphvrvs. See all confirmed dates below.
