Tribulation working on new album, line up change, live updates!

With the release of “The Children Of The Night” in April 2015, Sweden’s Tribulation have made a massive impact on the worldwide metal scene. After excessive touring in North America and Europe Tribulation took a well-deserved break not only to recover from the intense album campaign, but also to focus on what lies ahead: A change of drummer and a new album!

Tribulation recently published the following statement about the departure of drummer Jakob Ljungberg, who had been with the group since the album “The Formulas Of Death”:
As the summer in the year of their lord 2017 draws near and the world in the north is again fully starting to wake from its slumber we, on the other hand, are forced to face an inevitable end in the departure of our drummer Jakob Ljungberg who has decided to leave the band. We have spent the last five years together through pain to heaven, in chaos to bliss! It’s been such a strange, wonderful, tiring and inspiring time and we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this time the most important in the history of the band. We surely couldn’t have done it without you. We were like brothers even before the time of Tribulation and we certainly will be in the time after! Make sure to check out Jakob’s unique and most excellent band Second Sun where he sings and plays guitar!

Jakob Ljungberg also commented as follows: “It is with a heavy heart that I leave Tribulation. These last years have been among the best in my life, but they wore me out and now I have to continue life on different paths. Thanks to everyone involved – you made this journey spectacular, thanks to everyone that came up and said hi – it meant the world to me, thanks to everyone who believed in me – you made me believe in myself. Jonathan, Adam and Johannes: I love you. “The end of nights we tried to die – this is the end.”

But as every end is also a new beginning, Tribulation have already secured a new drummer in Oscar Leander and have further good news to spread: “After this period of silence, renewal and contemplation the time has now come to give you the new Tribulation! We have now fully immersed ourselves in the making of a new album that will be recorded at summer’s end. We are very pleased to announce that Oscar Leander (previously in Deathstars) is our new drummer. He will make his first appearance with us on Muskelrock now on Thursday, June 1st! Are you ready? We are!”

Droids Attack Announce Midwest / West Coast Tour Dates

Heavy Metal Band Droids Attack have announced their 17 date North American Tour in support of their February 2017 released LP,
Sci-Fi Or Die
. Launching June 16th in Des Moines, IA and winds through the band’s first West Coast run, finishing up July 3rd in Chicago, IL, with Sweeper joining them on about half of the dates.

Droids Attack laid it’s first groove down in the small utility room of singer/guitarist Brad Van’s legendary vintage arcade Aftershock Retrogames back in the fall of 2000. Brad, and drummer, Tony Brungraber, had met at a video game resale shop years earlier, and had started jamming shortly thereafter. By this they time had finally found a bassist, Nate Bush, to join them, so everything was in place. They began writing songs, and focused on developing a sound for what was intended to be their long term project. Once a full set’s worth of material was amassed, the band was off trying to land as many shows as it could. As fate would have it their first show was booked by then Crustacean Records representative, and future Droids Attack bassist, Darwin Sampson. It was a chance meeting that would help shape the group’s progression in several ways. Darwin enjoyed the band’s set that night, and saw potential enough to convince him they were a project worth adding to Crustacean’s expansive roster. Their debut album, All Your Chicks Are Belong To Us was released in 2004.

The gears started shifting, and before you knew it Droids Attack became recognized as one of the best live shows around Madison. All Your Chicks Are Belong To Us was met with great acclaim, earning the band some excellent press, and a Madison Area Music Award for best punk album of 2004. Moving forward, Droids continued writing and expanding on their sound, getting more epic in scope and feel with their 2006 Crustacean Records release, “Fatal/Error.” This album saw the group traveling outside of their Midwestern territory as the road beckoned them forth, most notably to Toronto for North By North East, and a Crustacean Records showcase in Austin at South By South West. Shortly thereafter, another independent label, Round 13 Records, took interest in the band and a split twelve inch record entitled Thee 1987 Inch, was released with new label mates, Imperial Battlesnake, on the flip side in 2008.

As the band stayed busy on the road touring steadily in support of their Round 13 release, Crustacean Records clamped down on it’s Midwestern focus with the hopes of branching off into more national territory, kicking out releases from acts like Killdozer, Off With Their Heads, Peelander Z, The Giraffes, and The Soviettes. Thankfully, the label continued to see value in their relationship with Droids Attack, and agreed to put out the band’s third full length album, Must Destroy, in 2010. A music video was released for their song, “The Great Wall Of ‘Gina,” and a buzz began, earning Must Destroy steady airplay on independent radio, and favorable reviews on metal blogs and international publications such as Outburn, Decibel, and Giant Robot. This exposure opened up more opportunities, and the band was invited to play some heavy gigs, opening up for national acts like High On Fire, Torche, Floor, Priestess, and performing at the nation’s largest independent music festival, Riot Fest. It was at this time that the group decided if it was to ever move forward from here, they had to go big or go home. They decided to take a shot, and began writing material for their fourth album, Sci-Fi Or Die, intent on giving it their best possible performance, and producing the best sounding recording they had ever achieved. Once enough new material was amassed, they began the process of demo recording.

Doyle Releases Music Video for “Run For Your Life”

Legendary Misfits Guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein has released the Official Music Video for “Run For Your Life.”

I did the guitars when I did the Abominator record. We did two albums at once, actually. We were going to do a double album but there was so much material we just cut the motherfucker in half. We were actually done with all the recording during February of 2016, and we were just having a real problem getting the mix right. We mixed for 14 fucking months…I’m out of my mind, man. It’s got to be perfect. It’s your product and you have to make it perfect, ’cause it’s forever. It’s got to be great. When my favorite artist makes a record and I don’t like it, I’m pissed, y’know? I don’t want anyone to feel that way about us. – Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein

Jungle Rot Interviewed In Oakland, California And Full Set Performance Footage

Jungle Rot’s latest album, Order Shall Prevail, was released on June 30th, 2015, just as the band prepared to perform at the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival. Since then, the Wisconsin metal brigade has performed at the Maryland Death Metal Fest, the Metal Alliance Tour with Dying Fetus and Acacia Strain. Jungle Rot recently teamed up with Germany’s Destruction as part of the North America Under Attack Tour and  had the misfortune of running into Iron Serbian, as he grilled them about their as yet unfinished new album, working with drummers and the good old days of metal.

On new Jungle Rot music….

Dave..We’ve been working away hard, we got seven songs written, Jimmy’s got to finish some lyrics yet, truthfully I don’t think we are going to see the day of light until probably next year in the spring, I mean we got some touring coming up, we don’t want to rush it, we want to make it special, its the tenth album, Its going good though man, if you know Jungle Rot, we’re not trying to re-invent nothing, its what we do and we do it good and people love it and some hate it, but we’re gonna stay.

Geoff…For the most part now its been just a lot of me and Dave just sitting down and riffing it out, we write everything with a drum machine now…..

Dave…. we’ve always done that, the last four albums, seems like the science of the band is here, Jeff and I do the writing, Geoff does the lyrics and it seems that’s the chemistry that works very well for us..

Inspired and motivated by their fans’ continued support Jungle Rot released the re-mastered 1996 album Skin The Living on February 19, 2013 and their eighth studio album Terror Regimeon March 19th. Ready to go to war, the band promises to vanquish the nonbelievers, showering them with waves of barbaric chanting and savagely powerful beats, until they raise their white flags of defeat. Jungle Rot will not be ignored. Jungle Rot will not be vanquished. Jungle Rot will not compromise. With no end in sight, it is clear that this case of Jungle Rot will continue to attack and decay anything and everything in its path. Ye have been warned; the era of muted metal will meet its end at the hands of Jungle Rot.

Unleash The Archers Release Music Video For Track “The Matriarch”

The definition of matriarch says:
“A woman who rules or dominates a family, group, or state; specifically:  a mother who is head and ruler of her family and descendants.”

“The Matriarch” is also the brand new track and music video off of Unleash The Archers’ upcoming album Apex. The album marks the tenth anniversary of Unleash The Archers! These heavy metal heroes are celebrating this honor with an exhilarating feast on their fourth masterpiece – out on June 2nd via Napalm Records!
Brittney Slayes states
“This track is chapter three in the story, and in it we are introduced to our antagonist “The Matriarch” in all her malevolent glory.  We call this one our “quick banger” because it’s fast, catchy, and fun, and hopefully it won’t take long to learn the words!  It is sung from an omniscient point of view, drawing the listener in with tales of The Matriarch’s depravity.  The best part is the bridge, because the song is so dark, and then it launches into this flowing wraithlike guitar melody that is so memorable, I sing along to it every time and I think the fans will too!  Absolutely cannot wait to play this one live  ;)”
