The Odious Construct launch “Shrine Of The Obscene” Lyric Video

Active since 2015, Sacramento, California-based progressive melodic death metal outfit The Odious Construct are a young band relatively speaking. Yet in their brief existence, they’ve moved at blinding speeds to continually refine their craft live and in the studio in order to reach the next level. After hashing out two single song demos in 2015, the band quickly released their well-received self-titled EP in July of 2016.

Now in 2018, The Odious Construct have evolved as musicians and songwriters and are primed to release their strongest music to date on Shrine of the Obscene. Recently signed to The Artisan Era, Shrine of the Obscene will be The Odious Construct‘s first effort on the label and is set for release on Friday, October 12th.

Slayer’s Final World Tour Will Extend Into 2019

“We always knew this tour would take us into 2019,” said Slayer’s Kerry King, “and we’ve been blown away by the response we’ve been getting here in North America.   We’ve heard about fans who have driven five, six hours, or flown in from other cities or countries to see us, so we want to assure our fans that we’ll be on the road through 2019 and will get to as many places around the world as possible to make it easier for everyone to come and see us one last time.”
To date, Slayer’s Final World Tour has consisted of Leg One and the just-wrapped Leg Two in North America, with Leg Three taking the band to the UK and Europe from November 1 through to December 8, 2018.  The band’s announced itinerary also has them headlining Mexico’s ForceFest on October 7, 2018, and Hellfest Open Air in France on June 23, 2019.
Plans are already underway for Slayer to take its Final World Tour to South America, Australia and Japan in 2019.  But there will be more, plenty more.  2019 is twelve months long, and the world is a big place.  Additional tour Legs will be announced soon.
“I just want to take the time out to say thank you to all our fans who have made this first part of this tour phenomenal,” said Tom Araya.  “You really are loyal and dedicated fans and we appreciate that so much from you.  We still have quite a few places to play, so next year, keep your eyes and ears open so you can catch us live one last and final time.  Again, thank you!”

The Browning Announce New Album “Geist”

Kansas City quartet The Browning – Jonny McBee [vocals, electronics], Brian Moore [guitar], Collin Woroniak [bass], and Cody Stewart [drums] – will release their fourth album Geist through Spinefarm Records on October 26. In advance of the release, the band has shared the new song “Carnage,” featuring Jake Hill. Listen below.

“Our new album Geist is by far our most dynamic sounding record,” said McBee about the new track. “It has the heaviest, and softest music The Browning has ever written. ‘Carnage’ is tip of the hat to the classic sound we have but with a ton of intensity and a feature from Jake Hill. When I wrote this song, the only thing I had in mind was to make it as high energy and hyped as possible.”
Regarding Geist, McBee continued, “My end goal for The Browning is to be industrial-electronic-rock-metal,” said McBee regarding Geist. “For this new album, I knew there needed to be a massive change not just musically for listeners, but for myself. That change had to come from the vocals. I’ve been working on finding the right voice for three years that’s powerful and melodic, but still extremely heavy and emotional. It was a long process, and I documented most of it live on my Twitch channel.”
