I’ve been chomping at the bit to get my hands on the latest release from Blind Illusion. Look at how beautiful these records are; the color palette is perfection.

A few months prior to the video of Straight As The Crowbar Flies Mark Biedermann reached out to me and asked if I would do a segment on the video of me poppin’ and lockin’ (I’m not sure if he was serious or not). I listened to the track and thought…oh hell yeah I could do this…but…alas….
I couldn’t do it at the time as it just fell in line with me having some health issues and I wouldn’t be able to B-Boy pop and lock Oakland Style like the song deserved.

The metal community can thank me for being ill as the video is so much more amazing without me. Plus the belly dancer is just slightly hotter than me…slightly.

Please go get this record from the thrash/prog pioneers from the Bay Area. Doug Piercy (ex Heathen) on guitar just brutally assaults you with riff and solo after riff and solo. Just sick guitar work!
Andy Galeon (ex Death Angel) throwing down relentless and crushing drums with a ferocity unparalleled in intensity.

And rounding out with Tom Gears keeping it all just so beautifully and rhythmically in cadence I can’t speak highly enough about this record.
Just go get this record. Blind Illusion are the progenitors of the sound of thrash within the bay area. They have housed some of the greats from our community. Larry LaLonde (Possessed, Primus), Les Claypool (Primus), Harald Oimoen (D.R.I. and also makes a great cameo in the latest video) and others in and out of the bay area. Every track is just flat out sick!
