The Great Discord premieres drum play-through for “L’homme Mauvais”

Transcending genre labels and lazy classification, The Great Discord is a musical enigma. Their layered, textured music is inspired by the likes of Genesis, King Crimson, Meshuggah and The Dillinger Escape Plan – but at the same time, individually they look up to an array of musicians beyond the confines of progressive music.

Having released two critically acclaimed albums this year (debut full-length, Duende, and EP,Echoes), Sweden’s The Great Discord is now launching a drum play-through for the track “L’homme Mauvais“, taken from Duende. To watch Aksel Holmgren’s performance of this progressive, technical masterpiece.

Described as “djent, thrash, doom, prog and black metal all rolled into one” (SkullsNBones.com), the quintet have left both media and fans awestruck at the talent and originality found on their two releases: Duende and Echoes.Duende, being The Great Discord’s debut full-length, captivated listeners, with media boldly proclaiming it as a new “standard for progressive metal” (DeadRhetoric.com); the recently released Echoes EP expanded on their sound even further, with the band putting their spin on classics by The Mars Volta and The Deftones.

Warbringer kick off North American tour dates‏

“The band sounds fucking killer right now and I can’t wait to get out there and assault the stage,” comments singer John Kevill.

warbrim2

Warbringer will launch their next North American tour in New York City on Jan. 5, 2016 at The Gramercy Theatre. This co-headliner trek with Sweden’s Enforcer will be almost two months and cover the US and Canada, along with opening acts Exmortus and Cauldron. This is the first domestic tour Warbringer has done since the fall of 2013 when the group opened for Overkill and Kreator in support of their last album,Warbringer IV: Empires Collapse so many fans are eager to see the band live again. This tour is also their only tour planned for 2016 as WARBRINGER will continue to write and plan to record their fifth album later in the year. Once known as road dogs playing up to 300 shows a year globally for 5 years straight the group decided to halt the numerous live activities and re-charge their batteries but core members John Kevill (vocals), Adam Carroll (guitar) and Carlos Cruz (drums) remain committed to the band and are excited to get back out there and showcase a new touring lineup of experienced musicians performing a killer set of Warbringer classics for fans on this stellar bill of bands. Joining the band for this tour are guitarist Jadran “Conan” Gonzalez of Exmortus (who will be doing double-duty playing two sets a night) and bassist Jessie Sanchez (Bonded By Blood, Holy Grail, Fear Factory, Others).

“The band sounds fucking killer right now and I can’t wait to get out there and assault the stage,” comments singer John Kevill. “It is worth mentioning that I’ve seen a number of ‘people leaving bands’  news pieces recently. Most often they cite the complete impossibly of making a living playing music, and the difficulty of the touring lifestyle. Well, I can say from experience that all of that is true. It’s tough, there’s no denying that. But that isn’t what I want to talk about here. What I want to talk about is what has kept me going for the 10+ years and 1000+ concerts I have done with this band I started right after finishing high school. I’ve seen more of the world than I ever thought was possible, met thousands of people from all walks of life, and from them learned much of the world. Among other things, I learned to remain humble and to always remember what an honor and privilege it is to perform songs I made with my friends, to complete strangers who live thousands of miles away who will come out on a work night to see me and my fellow band dudes banging our heads. Too many people lose sight of this. So that is why I am still here, and why I will see you guys on each of the 47 dates of this tour. Be ready. I am.
