Rising Bay Area Metal band Mudface have released “HellFoot”, the powerful lead single and video for “HellFoot” from their forthcoming album “The Bane Of Existence”.

Chris Dinsmore, the band’s lead singer, describes the song and video this way: “The song “Hellfoot” is about making the right choices in life… Too many times, we end up listening to that devil on our shoulder and it ends up proving fatal. The concept behind the “Hellfoot” video goes beyond making choices for yourself.  It’s more about choices being made for you because you are not strong enough in your own head to fight off those devils… Like sheep being led to the slaughter.  The video was shot in a studio in Santa Rosa, California byMike Sloat, who has directed videos for Exodus, Testament, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and American Headcharge.  Many of our fellow musicians and fans did an outstanding job acting as extras in the video. Having them participate made it extra special for the band – we truly appreciate their support!”

Formed in 2005 by Chris Dinsmore and Ted Aguilar (Death Angel), Mudface has released 2 Self-titled EP’S, and one full length album titled “ANTI” that was produced by Tim Narducci (Systematic, Spiral Arms).  “ANTI” received Metal Radio airplay all over the world.  The current lineup of Mudface came together as a band over time while crossing paths in the Bay Area Metal scene. Magnetized by their shared musical influences of icons like Megadeth, Death Angel, Testament, Nine Inch Nails and Iron Maiden, among others – One by one, they were all drawn into the Mudface universe. Lead vocalist Chris Dinsmore is the only original and founding member currently with the band.  Keyboardist Brett Crane came on board in 2009; Rob Kolowitz and son Grant are one of the only Father/Son teams in Metal and joined the band in late 2012. Bassist Jim Pegram joined during the writing of “The Bane of Existence” in early 2015. Drummer Tim Davis joined in late 2015 after the album was recorded, and the band’s current lineup was solidified.

The band has earned a reputation as intense and maniacal live performers in the Bay area and throughout the Western Half of the U.S. playing with Exodus, Death Angel, High On Fire and Otep, among others.  The band has played on big stages: In 2013, Mudface won the “Headbang To The Highway” Competition sponsored by Sumerian Records and played the Mayhem Festival @the Shoreline Amphitheatre with Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Amon Amarth, Mastodon, and Machine Head. The band has also performed on the U.S.S. Hornet and the legendary Queen Mary.

The new album “The Bane Of Existence” was produced bySahaj Ticotin (RA) & Bob Marlette (Atreyu, Coal Chamber, Rob Zombie, Seether) and will be released on March 18th, 2016.  Tour dates are now being booked to coincide with the album release and will be announced in early March.

abotred‘Belgium’s gore-mongers, ABORTED, have just vomited forth the cover artwork for their upcoming full-length album, Retrogore. Have a look at the pure horror and keep in mind… that guy in the mirror could easily be you!!!

Retrogore will mark ABORTED’s ninth studio album and will see a worldwide release in April of 2016 through Century Media Records. Don’t fear though, the berserker drums of Ken, the virtuoso guitar skills of Mendel and his new partner Ian, JB’s jackhammer bass as well as the possessed growls, shrieks and squeals of commander-in-chief Caluwé are all still prevalent, but this time, ABORTED have added a good portion of epically-crushing atmosphere throughout the twelve tracks found within Retrogore. Who dares wins! A first glimpse into the new material will be launched soon, so stay tuned!.

Need more gore? Recently ABORTED released a 5-track EP entitled Termination Reduxto celebrate the bands 20th year of existence as well as to offer fans a foretaste of what to expect on Retrogore. If you have yet to grab your copy, you better do so soon…

  1. Iconic thrash metal band DESTRUCTION have revealed the cover artwork to their upcoming album Under Attack. This stunning visualization was created by acclaimed artist Gyula from Hungary, who has also created artwork for ANNIHLATOR, GRAVE DIGGER, STRATOVARIUS, TANKARD and many more.
  2. “I had the vision of the exploding earth with the DESTRUCTION  skull as continents before we even had the title,” commented the band. “Never has the earth and every individual been so Under Attack: whether it’s environmental issues, wars or politics and media madness, we just destroy everything that we love! The cover brings together the classical concepts of the band’s history and fits in well with the discography…but unfortunately it also represents the current state of the world today!”
  3. The band started the recording sessions for Under Attack after the summer festivals last year and have been recording segments in various studios between September 2015 and January 2016. So far, they have completed the drum recordings with Martin Buchwalter at Gernhart Studios in Germany, as well as completing some basic recordings, mixing and mastering with VO Pulver at Little Creek Studios in Switzerland.

Under Attack is tentatively scheduled for May 13 via Nuclear Blast Records.

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER Part Ways With Guitarist Ryan Knight And Announce US Tour With Fallujah And Disentomb

Vocalist Trevor Strnad comments: “We are very excited to unleash this absolutely crushing lineup upon you all and to play the much requested Unhallowed album in its entirety.

the black dahlia murder

After releasing their new album, Abysmal, last year to critical acclaim and headlining both part I and part II of the massive IndieMerch Tour, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER has announced another headlining trek – this time, taking the show back to their roots. With Fallujah and Disentomb as support, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER plans to play their first full-length, 2003’s Unhallowed, in its entirety, performing at intimate venues across the US that haven’t seen the band since their debut was released.

Vocalist Trevor Strnad comments: “We are very excited to unleash this absolutely crushing lineup upon you all and to play the much requested Unhallowed album in its entirety. The songs are sounding better than ever before, and we can’t wait for you to feast your ears on our debut album as it was meant to be heard. We will also be playing some bangers from our new album, Abysmal, and the rest of the catalog…Come out and bring your friends!”

In related news, Brandon Ellis will join THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER on the road as the band’s touring guitarist and replacement for Ryan Knight, who amicably parted ways with the group. In regards to his departure, Knight comments: “After nearly seven years with THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, I feel the time has come for me to step down and focus on other aspects of my life. The decision to leave was very difficult, yet necessary I feel for me to ultimately be happy and keep moving forward. I feel very lucky to have had the best band-mates/crew — past and present — to traverse the world, guzzle beers, and bring the rock with every night. Thank you, guys. I’d like to give a huge thank you to all our fans for being so cool to me over the years, and all the hardworking people over at Metal Blade Records for their support, and general badassery. In the meantime, I’ll still be teaching guitar, working on new music, and just getting pretty domestic in general. Thanks again!”

Strnad adds: “When Ryan first joined the band, he drove from the hospital where his first child had just been born to begin practicing and writing with us, on the eve of the recording of our Deflorate album. In his years with the band, he made a lot of sacrifices to be with us and uphold our insanely demanding touring and recording schedule. He always gave us one-hundred percent, and for that I thank him. He is an incredible musician and creative force. It was exciting to make new material with him, and his wealth of knowledge has left its stamp on the band’s music forever. I always knew that his time in the band would be limited, and it has now come time for him to go home and be with his family. Ryan, being the stand-up dude that he is, told us of his plans to leave the band more than a year ago, and with heavy hearts we began to plan for THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER’s future. We admire that Ryan went to such lengths to make his departure as easy on the band as possible, even going as far as to help us find a talented leadsman in Brandon Ellis — who has been lending us his tremendous guitar skills on the current TBDM tour. Knight is one of my best friends and I wish him the best in everything he does. He will always have a place here in the TBDM family. I look back at our time together with nothing but gratitude.”
