THE DANDY WARHOLS Reveal “Why Are You So Crazy” Album Details

Celebrations for The Dandy Warhols’ 25th anniversary include a new album, Why You So Crazy‘ (Dine Alone Records), a single-shot 360° short film featuring Mad Men’s Jessica Paré for the single ‘Be Alright,’ and a 2019 tour of Europe, the UK and North America as well as exclusive goodies available viaPledgeMusic. “The weirdest thing about it being ‎our 25th anniversary is it doesn’t feel like 25 years. Feels like about six. Or five,” muses frontman Courtney Taylor-Taylor.
The release of their 10th studio album will see The Dandy Warhols return in singularly freewheeling fashion, careening through classically off-kilter psych-pop (Be Alright), high country-fried Americana (‘Motor City Steel’), and gothic piano-propelled rumbas (Forever’). Packing in references as far flung as Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Don MacLean’s Chevy, and the church of Bowie’s ‘Modern Love,’ these 12 songs reflect the band’s surrealist visions of an alternate reality.
The 360° short film for ‘Be Alright,’ which centers around the consumption of a magic wine, was done in a single shot and filmed at the band’s space, Odditorium, which includes a bar owned by Taylor-Taylor who has a deep passion for the wine world. Directed by Taylor-Taylor, the video was written and conceived by Kevin Moyer, award winning creative who has worked on music projects with and featuring Elliott Smith, Modest Mouse, Daniel Johnston, Pearl Jam, Portugal The Man, Willie Nelson, and many others.

“We’ve always been driven to create art with emotional clarity,” says Taylor-Taylor. “That’s what the world needs more than ever right now. I’ve never felt so strongly that people are losing their minds, and it’s more of them than ever before. Local politics, international politics, news programs, sitcoms, and our president all feel like the heat got turned up. It doesn’t feel like a natural progression of insanity, it just happened. Most people are behaving in a manner that can only be described as batshit crazy.”

To help counter the insanity, The Dandy Warhols are hitting the road in 2019. European/UK dates will stop in Antwerp, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and London. North American dates will bring them to Atlanta, Washington, Boston, Brooklyn, Toronto, Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver, Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco.

New Lyric Video From Long-Running Death Metal Unit MISERY INDEX

Rituals Of Power is the imminent new full-length from long-running American death metal powerhouse MISERY INDEX. Set to drop March 8th via Season Of Mist, the record boasts nine crushing tracks centered around the concept of “truth” and its use throughout history as a means to uphold power, regimes, and ideologies.
In advance of the record’s release, Decibel Magazine offers up the official lyric video for Rituals Of Power’s title track noting, “The sixth out of nine songs, ‘Rituals of Power’ is a high-speed chunk of ripping death metal that simultaneously grooves and grinds, showcasing MISERY INDEX at their finest. Oh, and the song is catchy without sacrificing its extremity.”
Offers the band, “‘Rituals Of Power’ represents the album’s title track and most musically dynamic offering. We wanted to create something that captured the tension of this modern era; something that conjures visions of civilizational collapse and lost ideals gone astray and embeds them in riffs as monolithic as they are haunting. It is an anthem of hope as much as it is a cautionary tale; an end times farewell letter from the front lines of history. Turn it up and enjoy the ride…”

View “Rituals Of Power,” below.  Rituals Of Power will be released in several formats including standard jewel case CD and digitally as well as limited LP, limited cassette, and limited deluxe digibox which includes bonus cover tracks – Nailbomb’s “Wasting Away” and M.O.D.’s “Man Of Your Dreams” – as well as a carabiner with key strap and bottle opener, a patch, and three vinyl stickers.

The trek will commence on March 22nd in Oakland, California and rumble the stages of nearly three dozen venues upon its conclusion April 26th in Las Vegas, Nevada. Support will be provided by Delaware death dealers/labelmates Scorched on select shows. See all confirmed dates below.

Thematically heavy on weird, supernatural horror and a bizarre Rudimentary Peni surrealism,ULTHAR is a difficult to classify spectral entity.

WOLF RED of BAMBOO STAR ” I like songs with a solid fighting spirit”

Bamboo Star are every bit as interesting and culturally unique as their hometown of Hong Kong. Like their fast-paced city, Bamboo Star’s music, recorded with LA-based producer Bob Marlette (Black Sabbath, Airbourne, Shinedown), is high-energy. The band makes their entry into the US market with their dazzling EP “No Hard Feelings”. Created by Australian Wolf Red (front man and vocalist) and Canadian Terence Ng (lead guitarist), who came together with Hong Kong locals Jasmine Wong (bassist) and Lawrence Wong (drummer) in Hong Kong, Bamboo Star are making some of the most captivating rock music out of Asia. King Diamond launches new video, “Arrival (Live at Graspop)”

On January 25th, King Diamond will release a new DVD/Blu-ray, Songs For The Dead Live, via Metal Blade Records.

There is only one King Diamond, and for more than thirty years the great Dane has been dropping classic albums and putting on shows fans remember for the rest of their lives. Perhaps the only downside to having such a formidable catalogue is that there are just too many great songs to fit into a single set. However, you would be hard-pressed to find a fan who wouldn’t want to hear 1987’s seminal Abigail in its entirety, and Songs For The Dead Live captures this, twice, and in very different locales. Boasting eighteen songs per set, each of the two shows – Belgium’s Graspop Metal Meeting in June 2016 and Philadelphia’s Fillmore in November 2015 – feature a brace of classic King Diamond and Mercyful Fate tracks including “Welcome Home,” “Halloween,” and “Eye Of The Witch” before launching into Abigail. The performances of the all-star lineup of musicians, comprising of guitarists Andy LaRocque and Mike Wead, bassist Pontus Egberg and drummer Matt Thompson, are absolutely ferocious, hammering home every single moment.

For a preview of Songs For The Dead Live, a new video, “Arrival (Live at Graspop)”, can be viewed below.

High On Fire Cancels “Electric Messiah Tour 2019” Due to Medical Emergency

High On Fire will not participate in the 2019 “Electric Messiah Tour” sponsored by Revolver Magazine. Fans can refund their tickets through the point of purchase.
Front man Matt Pike has provided a statement:
“Dear Friends and fans,
To my brothers, my crew, and anyone else this affects. I do apologize for the inconvenience of this cancelation. I feel as though I’m explaining lightning striking twice. I wanted nothing more in the world to play these songs live, nor ever cancel something I say I’m gonna do.”
“I am a warrior for our art, and have endured some painful things to what we do. The timing and repeating nature of this is my nightmare and almost impossible. Nevertheless, to save yet another toe, my big one, I have been grounded by circumstances out of my control. I will have more of a medical report to come but right now I’m at great risk of losing it, and/or a bigger portion of my foot due to Diabetes. Which I have been managing very well.”
“It just shows how this disease can affect our lives. Please forgive me, and if you know anything about me, you know this is not like me. We will be back!”
