Obituary Premiere Second Single “Turned To Stone”

Florida death metal legends OBITUARY have shared the second single off their forthcoming, self-titled full-length. Watch the album art, lyric video accompanying “Turned to Stone”

Loudwire comment: “As if thawing after 1,000 years entombed in ice, the song opens up with slow-churning riff and a low to high guttural scream from John Tardy, whose reputation as one of death metal’s most unique and savage vocalists is never in question. In lockstep rhythm on all fronts, they settle into mid-tempo slam-styled groove, only picking up the pace when the frets start flying during the solos on the back half of “Turned to Stone.””

Obituary is due out March 17th, 2017 on CD/LP/Digital. Physical and digital pre-orders are available now via Relapse here.

Geoff Tate Formerly of Queensrÿche Stars In Slasher Movie

On February 14th, MVD Entertainment will release the feature film debut of Geoff Tate, former lead vocalist of the mega-platinum metal band Queensrÿche. Entitled The Burningmore Deaths, the horror film – written and directed by Jonathan Williams – is inspired by true events surrounding unsolved murders captured on security cameras during a production shoot of a Home Improvement TV show pilot.
Tate takes on the role of James Parrish, a man who allegedly killed his own wife and three children before disappearing without a trace. With the home now vacated and boarded up, a home improvement company gets permission to film the renovation process for a test pilot for a TV network, not knowing that Parrish had returned to take up residence once again in the derelict building. Bloody chaos ensues – and it’s all captured on camera!
The Burningmore Deaths features an original score by Andrew Kadin with additional music by Dawn of Solace and Geoff Tate.

“I think I’ve always done it… In our own shows and with the way I present music,” said Tate. “It all has a bit of a stage acting bend to it. So this wasn’t really a stretch for me. It was just playing to a different audience, to a camera rather than a room full of people, but it’s the same thing. You play-act and you make stuff up and you present that like you would in a stage show. “

The Burningmore Deaths will be available on all digital stores for download and also available on DVD in retail stores, the MVD Shop, and on Amazon.

Toy Called God Release Music Video for “Numb In A Bottle”

Groove metal influenced hard rockers TOY CALLED GOD released their heavy-hitting full-length album, Dirt On Your Coffin, earlier last year. Hailing from Brentwood, CA, the quartet have been making a name for themselves since 2011 – mixing crushing distortion, infectious hooks and headbanger riffs.

Last spring, the band released a music video for their single “False Prophet”, shot and directed by Mike Sloot (Testament, Machine Head, Lynyrd Skynyrd). Today, TOY CALLED GOD is following up with their second music video supporting Dirt On Your Coffin, for the track “Numb In A Bottle”, also directed by Mike Sloot and focusing on the dangers of alcoholism.

Guitarist Patrick Donovan states, “Far too often in our journey, those we love choose to numb themselves to life as opposed living it. Often times those around them want to help their loved ones but don’t know how to do that. Sometimes that help comes too late. Live life, love your people, never give up and never go numb.”

Dirt On Your Coffin Track Listing:
1. False Prophet
2. Drop On The Pile
3. Justice
4. Numb In A Bottle
5. Warning Shot
6. Push Me Down
7. Shackled
8. Dirt on Your Coffin

TOY CALLED GOD will perform at the Red Hat Bar in Concord, CA on February 4 with Via Perdition, No More Solace, and Suburban Paranoia. The show is 21+ , starts at 8pm and costs $10 at the door. Click here for more information.
