Sumerian Records Presents: 10 Years In The Black Tour Featuring Asking Alexandria, Born of Osiris and more

77

Sumerian Records continues to celebrate its 10 year anniversary, announcing the “10 Years In The Black Tour” featuring label artists Asking Alexandria and Born Of Osiris.

I See Stars, After The Burial, Upon a Burning Body and Bad Omens round out the North American tour, which launches on Oct. 25 at Seattle’s Showbox Sodo and wraps up in early December.

“I can’t remember the last time I was this excited for a tour,” Asking Alexandria guitarist Ben Bruce said. “Not only is this our first true North American headlining tour in two years, as well as our first real U.S. headliner with Denis [Stoff] as our vocalist, but this is also a tour celebrating the incredible 10 year journey of Sumerian Records. We couldn’t be more proud to headline such a pivotal tour package and to celebrate the music Sumerian has released. The tour will include our biggest production to date and the first trek out in support of our new album, The Black. This is going to be something incredibly special.”

“To see the celebration of a decade of Sumerian culminate with this tour is a true reflection of the communal spirit and vision that this label was built upon,” said Sumerian Records Founder Ash Avildsen. “Fans will get to see five headliners all go out together, which is very rare these days because of tour politics, egos, money and everything else that gets in the way of giving music lovers an unforgettable line-up. The fact that these five bands are sharing the stage together and still bringing an opening act to kick off the show makes this a truly special tour. I comment them all. Stay tuned for for lots of upcoming announcements about different activities for bands and fans to interact at at these shows that go beyond just watching them perform on stage. Mark my words: This will be the most progressive and interactive tour we have ever done. See you on the road.”

Asphyx announce new studio album title and release date!

77

Dutch Doom/Death Metal pioneers ASPHYX are ready to announce their new studio album release, following up on 2012’s acclaimed Deathhammer record! The new albumis now finished and will be entitled, Incoming Death, and will be released worldwide on September 30th, 2016 via Century Media Records.
Vocalist Martin van Drunen checked in with the following status report:

“Four and a half years after the release of “Deathhammer” we finally managed to finish its long awaited successor. It will be out on September the 30th,  as always on our beloved label Century Media. Expect 11 unmerciful battering tracks in the typical ASPHYX death/doom style, but also the most varied ASPHYX material up to date without losing our rawness, brutality and heaviness. The album will be entitled “Incoming Death”. And like “Deathhammer”, it’s a phrase that doesn’t really exist, but refers to what entrenched soldiers cry out when under severe artillery fire. Thus “Incoming Death” implies another relentless bombardment of monstrous ASPHYX death/doom metal!”

“Recorded on different locations throughout 2016 and once more mixed and mastered by the mighty Dan “The Man” Swanö. Serious ear bleedings guaranteed! It’s also our first record also featuring “Husky” on drums, who is now with us for already two and a half years molesting the pig skins with the absolute perfect ASPHYX attitude, passion, pride and mayhem. We are very proud of this best ASPHYX album ever! And knowing our dedicated fans worldwide, they will be proud of us as well! Soon we will hit the stages on every continent to do what we do best; Intense, loud, sweaty, filthy and ruthless live performances!”

And here is a list of upcoming ASPHYX shows in 2016:
