Cultural Warfare Sign To M-Theory Audio, Future Kill EP To Be Released January 2017

There’s no denying the impact Bay Area thrash has had on heavy metal. While that recognized glorious time has passed that doesn’t mean the soil is no longer fertile as the region still produces some of the best talent and CULTURAL WARFARE joins the list of noteworthy artists from the area. Hailing from Oakland’s East Bay, Cultural Warfare is made up four seasoned musicians with one common goal, who understand the rich history and lineage that their forefathers built and want to continue that legacy. Recently joined by former Taunted/Annihilation vocalist Jacques Serrano the band has elevated their potential bringing in a singer of his quality opening up the ability of the band to cross over and appeal to a wider audience of metalheads splicing the past with the present to create something the blends aggression with melody perfectly.

M-Theory Audio recognized this immediately when the group debuted a new track, “Defy the Blade” from the forthcoming Future Kill 5-song EP and worked out a deal to assist the band in getting their music heard.

“We are very excited to announce our new partnership between M-Theory Audio/Salem Rose Music and Cultural Warfare,” explains drummer Kevin Doughty. “Marco Barbieri has been an integral part of the Metal scene, music business, and community for many years. He has a vast knowledge of this business and specializes in nurturing bands to get the best out of them to achieve their goals. This is exactly what we were looking for, so when Marco heard our song ‘Defy the Blade’ that we put out on YouTube, he reached out to our singer wanting to hear more of our new EP. We were completely blown away by his interest. Once Marco heard the entire EP he offered us a contract under his new label M-Theory Audio. We were beside ourselves to say the least! We believe this is a partnership that will blossom into something very special, and are very much looking forward to working with M-theory Audio and Marco in the upcoming year 2017.”

Produced by Juan Urteaga (Machine Head, Exodus, Testament) at Trident Studios in Martinez, CA and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Sepultura, Halford, Faith No More) in Los Angeles, the five songs sound large and impactful capturing CULTURAL WARFARE perfectly. Awesome cover art by Stone Design brings the band’s concept of Future Kill to life perfectly. The EP is set for a January 27threlease date on M-Theory Audio, via CD and digital distribution. Preorder copies now at the M-Theory shop for the special price of $5 here.

Exmortus Interviewed In San Francisco, California And Tour Announcement

Mean Gene of Capital Chaos TV gets the inside scoop of touring with Abbath & Amon Amarth, hair mishaps, desert island discs and more with Exmortus vocalist Jadran “Conan” Gonzalez, drummer Mario Moreno and new bassist Cody at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, California while on tour with Children Of Bodom, Abbath & ONI 12/05/126

Having just wrapped up a month long jaunt with Finnish metal masters Children of Bodom, black metal legend Abbath and prog outfit Oni, Los Angeles’ neoclassical shred quartet Exmortus showcased their “modern day thrash-meets-old school Michael Angelo Batio & Yngwie Malmsteen” sound that “made the crowds go wild” (Metal Wani). Drummer Mario Moreno remarked,  We had an amazing time on the I WORSHIP CHAOS tour, but like the saying goes all good things must come to an end. We just played our last show in  New York City and we’re making our way back home with a stop in El Paso, TX. 2016 was a great year for the band and we’re anxious for what 2017 already holds for us. “

With 2016 nearly at an end, Exmortus once again continue to prove themselves as one of the hardest working bands in heavy metal having spent over 3/4 of the year on tours alongside acts such as Amon Amarth, Marty Friedman, Enforcer, Warbringer, Entombed A.D., Holy Grail, Spellcaster and Cauldron as well as performing at the opening ceremony for Ozzfest meets Knotfest. They will continue their non-stop assault on audiences in support of their critically acclaimed release “Ride Forth” as they have just announced two sets of tour dates for early 2017. The band will join thrasher’s Havok and Extinction AD for a brief jaunt across the U.S. and Canada from February 8 – 18 before rejoining Havok for their first-ever European tour April 2 – 30 alongside thrashers Warbringer and tech death outfit Gorod.

Moreno commented, “We’re excited to start our next tour alongside Havok and Extinction AD. The tour will be in February with 11 dates across the U.S. followed by a European tour with Havok, Warbringer and Gorod. This will also be our first time going overseas and we’re stoked to be doing it with some killer bands. See you metal maniacs on the road! \m/”

Watch MAKJ And Andrew W.K. New Music Video For “Party Till We Die”

California-based DJ and producer MAKJ closes out the year with his new music video for “Party Till We Die” featuring Andrew W.K. and Timmy Trumpet. The video directed by Matt Alonzo, who has previously worked with Tyler, The Creator, The Game, and more — shows grandparents sneaking out of a senior citizen’s home to crash a party where MAKJ is DJ’ing. Their night turns into a scene straight out of Project X with the grandparents making out with party-goers and doing keg stands, body shots, and more.

Discovering a passion for mixing and DJing by the age of 15, MAKJ has earned the title as an acclaimed producer, continuously exposing creativity and diversity throughout his music. At 17, he was able to hone and perfect his craft under the tutelage of legendary turntablist DJ AM. His originals such as his collaboration with Lil Jon have landed him multiple iTunes Dance Top 10s and a spot two years in a row on the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs List. MAKJ’s prominence has led him to new heights, performing at festivals such as Coachella, EDC, TomorrowLand and Ultra. Having hosted his acclaimed weekly Revolution Radio show on SiriusXM Radio for 3 years now and at only 26 years of age, Mackenzie Johnson has achieved an almost unfathomable amount of success. His dedication to his craft and ambition will continue to propel him into the dance music spotlight. After releasing a collaborative track with famed party rocker and Internet personality Andrew W.K., MAKJ has been hard at work on his debut album, which is set to release soon.

Watch Tengger Cavalry Music Video for “kAAn”

Global Music Award-winning Nomadic Mongolian folk metal group TENGGER CAVALRY just released a brand new EP, entitled kAAn. Today, the band showcases the EP’s socially-conscious themes by revealing the new music video for the title track, “kAAn”, which puts oppression of nomadic cultures under the spotlight. Much like our country’s own Native American community, who are suffering from governmental and corporate oppression (i.e. Standing Rock), nomadic Mongolians have found their culture threatened by surrounding forces for generations. As brothers in nomadic culture, TENGGER CAVALRY penned “kAAn” as a beacon of support.
Watch the “kAAn” music video and read additional commentary from TENGGER CAVALRY frontman Nature Ganganbaigal regarding the band’s cultural background and details behind the track and video now, exclusively via Huffington Post.
Ganganbaigal comments, “This century is the century of machine and industry. Nomadic culture is falling apart everywhere around the world. Grasslands and plains are being exploited and it is becoming more acceptable to step into the sacred land of others and get what we need in the moment. We all saw what happened at Standing Rock. As distantly related brothers of Native Americans (proven genetically), TENGGER CAVALRY, an international alliance of Mongols, Central Asians and Northern Asians, felt the need to give our public support to them. This video is about the brotherhood of nomadic people. It doesn’t matter what ethnicity you are – if you have a nomadic heart and you love nature and sky, you are one of us, and we will support you!”
