San Jose, California rising stars ANGERHEAD, have signed with VIOLENT CREEK Records (Germany) for the release of their debut full length album “Fueled By Rage” to be released towards the end of 2016 on cd, vinyl and digital formats.
The album will combine all 3 of their previously released eps (Angerhead, Headful of Hate and Fueled by Rage) in one package for a ferocious metallic onslaught of west coast metal, thrash, punk and hardcore music.
ANGERHEAD is a San Jose, California based band that was started in February 2011 by Guitarist Eric Beard (Dr.Chunk, Xzanthus) and Vocalist Paul Hastey (Plaster), who expertly blend elements of Bay Area Thrash, Metal, Punk and Hardcore into the music they write. The band is rounded out by Bassist Jim Pegram (Mudface, Imagika, Skinner) and drummer David O’Neal (Stormy Strong).
In a short amount of time, Angerhead have created a major buzz within the Bay Area Thrash scene that they grew playing in. In the first few years, they have garnered lots of attention by sharing the stages with Suicidal Tendencies, Soulfly, Exodus, Testament, Death Angel, Forbidden, DRI, Quiet Riot, Static X, Kittie and many more hard hitting musical acts. Local metal promoters love having Angerhead on bigger bills, as they feel the band can bring all types of fans of heavy music together.
In 2013, Angerhead went in the studio and recorded a 3 song EP, which featured the title track “Angerhead” with Paul sharing vocal duties with Steve “Zetro” Souza (Exodus, Hatriot).
In 2014, they entered the studio once again, this time with Juan Urteaga (Machine Head, Testament) and recorded the “Headful of Hate” 4 song Ep which has gained the bands even more fans.
Both EP’s are highly sought after items and have sold very well at shows and online.
Angerhead also released their very first video with Mike Sloat (Machine Head, Testament) for the punishing song “Destroy The Trend”.
2016 sees the band releasing their new new 5 song “Fueled by Rage” EP, once again with Juan Urteaga at the helm for another punishing lesson in old school metal indoctrination.
San Francisco-based classic doom metallers ORCHID have parted ways with drummer Carter Kennedy.
The split happened last July after the band had returned home from Europe. ORCHID would like to thank Carter for his contributions to their 2 full lengths, 4 EPs, and numerous live concerts and tours and wish him all the best in his future musical endeavors.
In August of 2015, the band began working with Bay Area native and long time friend, drummer Ted (TJ) Cox.
Currently, ORCHID is writing and demoing new material for an as of yet untitled full length album due out on Nuclear Blast in 2017.

MALEVOLENT CREATION have announced that they will return to the road in the US for the first time in five years supporting their new album Dead Man’s Path. The reviled Florida death metal outfit is also celebrating the 25th anniversary of their iconic debut record, “The Ten Commandments”. The upcoming trek starts on October 6th at The Masquerade in Atlanta, GA and ends three weeks later in New Orleans, LA. Fans can expect to hear songs from The Ten Commandments and Dead Man’s Path, as well as select tracks from their vast discography. When asked about the tour, the band simply offered the comment “no flesh shall be spared.” Joining MALEVOLENT CREATION on all dates of the tour are Incantation and Seeker.
Time flies fast and deals cruel hand. For death metal legends MALEVOLENT CREATION, however, Father Time is weak and feeble, his scythe a cane and his hourglass long broken. To wit: it’s been 24 years since “The Ten Commandments” shocked media outlets and found wide-spread acceptance in death metal’s ardent fanbase. Since then, the Floridians never gave in. Not to waning interest in the genre, not to black metal’s near-takeover of extreme metal, not to nü-metal’s commercial viability. No prevailing force – supernatural or otherwise – has diminished MALEVOLENT CREATION’s aggressive spirit and inexhaustible fire. Certainly, the three original members – guitarist Phil Fasciana, vocalist Bret Hoffmannn, and bassist Jason Blachowicz – didn’t think they’d still be writing, recording, and touring in a band when they formed in Buffalo in 1987, but their tenacity and perseverance over the years has shown dedication to the art of death. And all that comes with it.
Lyrically, “Dead Man’s Path” is commentary on our own brutal reality. Written by and through the lens of Hoffmann, the lyrics on MALEVOLENT CREATION’s newest reflect mankind’s relentless cruelty rather than valorize it. Songs like “Corporate Weaponry”, “Extinction Personified”, and “Blood Of The Fallen” aren’t of legend or folklore – no zombies or mythology here. Rather, they’re straight out of nightly newscasts or horrific stories from social media feeds. There’s also a personal side to Hoffmann’s cutthroat lines. “Bret writes about reality,” Fasciana says. “Whether it’s about himself or what’s happening in the world it’s always real. Bret’s lyrics may always have a theme throughout each song that deals with death in one way or another and it works for him and our music. I know he does write a bit about his own life experiences which are probably things that piss him off in this world and, again, it fits with the music perfectly. We never have to tell him what to write about or how to sing anything. We may have an idea or suggestion here and there but for the most part Bret just does his own thing.”

The self-titled debut album from mind-melting metallic jazz trio BRAIN TENTACLES is a journey in improvised and structured experimental sound from three venerable scene veterans. Featuring Bruce Lamont (Yakuza, Bloodiest, etc) on horns, voice, electric piano and synth, Dave Witte (Discordance Axis, Municipal Waste, etc) on drums, and Aaron Dallison (Keelhaul) on bass, voice, and synth, Brain Tentacles sees the threepiece weaving their way through twisted, seizure-inducing compositions that call to mind the insanity of John Zorn’s storied project Naked City and Mike Patton’s most erratic experiments. BRAIN TENTACLES are masters of tension: the album moves unpredictably from mathy chaos to ponderous, juddering grooves that warp time in their wake, darting from one extreme to the other via insane rhythms and truly progressive, expansive songwriting. Occasional vocals (including a guest appearance from Oxbow’s Eugene Robinson) lend an even sharper edge to the album, which is sure to blow away fans of instrumental and vocal-driven music alike. Produced by Sanford Parker (Minsk, YOB, etc) and features artwork by Jef Whitehead of Leviathan!
The first new song from the album, “The Sadist,” has premiered via Decibel Magazine – hear it now.
Brain Tentacles is due out this September 30 on CD/LP/Digital via Relapse Records. Physical and digital pre-orders are available at this location.
