SikTh to embark on first ever U.S. tour next month with Periphery

77
British progressive metal forefather SikTh will embark on its first ever U.S. tour next month as main support for Periphery on the “Sonic Unrest Tour.” Chron and Toothgrinder round out the package for the 23-city trek, beginning August 4 in Raleigh, N.C. A full list of dates can be seen below.
SikTh vocalist Mikee Goodman comments: “Touring America has always been a huge goal for SikTh; up to this point it hasn’t been possible, but we’re pleased to announce we are finally coming over as direct support to Periphery in August! August is a significant month in our career as it marks the 16th anniversary of our first release (‘The Trees Are Dead & Dried Out Wait for Something Wild’). We’ve taken our time, but this is a great tour and opportunity to play for our very patient fans in the U.S. and also make new fans!
SikTh is touring in support of its ‘Opacities’ mini-album, available on iTunes at :http://smarturl.it/Opacities_Digital.
Recorded at Lincoln’s Chapel Studios and produced by SikTh’s own Dan Weller and Justin Hill (mixed by Forrester Savell [Karnivool, Animals As Leaders, Dead Letter Circus]), ‘Opacities’ was described by guitarist Dan Weller as a “more thoughtful, heavier, more refined” record. This is demonstrated in the video for “Philistine Philosophies,” which was directed and created by Mikee W. Goodman.

‘Opacities’ marks the first SikTh release since taking a hiatus in 2008 before reforming at the U.K.’s Download Festival in 2014.

Carnifex and Bloody-Disgusting have teamed up to premiere the video for “Slow Death,” the title track from the band’s latest masterwork. Slow Death is out August 5 on Nuclear Blast.

Vocalist Scott Ian Lewis told the site, “Live performances are the flesh and blood of Carnifex. We live in die on the stage. For this video, we wanted to capture the energy of our fans and the band like never before. Plus, a cool abandoned warehouse party never hurts.”

Lord Of War Launches New Lyric Video For Album Title Track ; Suffer Out NOW On Unique Leader

77
Last week, atmospheric deathcore behemoths LORD OF WAR unleashed the audio lashings of their latest full-length via Unique Leader Records. Appropriately titled Suffer, the record was engineered and mixed by Daniel Castleman and Kelly Cairns (Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Carnifex, Winds Of Plague, Molotov Solution) and mastered by Miah Lajeunesse (Whitechapel, Aegaeon).
Today Metal Hammer is pleased to unveil the official new lyric video to the title track issuing, “Much to our surprise, 2016 has turned out to be an extraordinary year for deathcore, with fantastic new records from the likes of Despised Icon, Carnifex, Whitechapel, and Chelsea Grin… Perhaps the biggest surprise is that the relatively unknown LORD OF WAR have delivered the finest album of the lot… Suffer absolutely trounces all-comers with an exhilarating blend of ultra-modern brutality, irresistible grooves, chilling atmospherics, and some startlingly refined and mature songwriting. Most importantly, it will definitely kick your face off. To celebrate the release of this face-flaying masterwork, we are proud to present the world premiere of LORD OF WAR‘s new lyric video for the new album’s title track.”
LORD OF WAR has been inflicting its unique brand of thematically driven death metal on the world since 2011. Coming from their hometown of San Diego, California, the band draws inspiration from all across the world’s extreme metal spectrum. Always maintaining an uncompromising level of dedication to musicianship, LORD OF WAR constantly pushes their collective skill sets to the next level in order to deliver increasingly imaginative aggression to their fan base. The world took notice of their pervasive efforts after the band had landed shows and small tours with larger national touring acts, on their own. In the Fall of 2011, the band announced signing an album deal with Unique Leader Records, and in January 2012 released their debut album Celestial Pestilence.

German Electronic-Rock Duo Bullet Height Releases “Hold Together (DJ HYPER Remix); Single Available Today

77

Berlin-based electronic-rock duo BULLET HEIGHT, featuring Sammi Doll of IAMX and Jon Courtney of Pure Reason Revolution, have released a stunning electronica remix by DJ Hyper for their new single, “Hold Together,” out now via Superball Music (Matt Skiba & The Sekrets, …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Dredg, and more).
The full single is available on all digital platforms including iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, and more, and features “Hold Together,” the DJ Hyper remix, and another another remix of the track by Texan producer ArtVersusIndustry.
“When I was sent the Bullet Height material, I knew this was a band whose music made sense to me,” comments DJ Hyper on working with Bullet Height. “It’s exactly the sort of music I would choose to listen to and the ideas for the remix came thick and fast.  I’ve aimed to counterpoint beautiful melody with aggression and I couldn’t be happier with the results.  It’s one of my favourite remixes of recent years.”
The band added: “Hyper makes brooding electronic beasts – anyone that’s not heard the albums ‘Lies’ or ‘Bully’ absolutely needs to! When the remix came back we were blown away – it struck the perfect tone & vibe. There’s already been talk of a collaboration on his upcoming material, which we’re super excited about.”
A pioneering British electronica and breakbeats DJ, Hyper is both prolific and critically acclaimed, previously working with the likes of The Prodigy, Paul Van Dyk and more. His 2013 award-nominated album ‘Lies’(which featured two Beatport #1’s) was followed up quickly with the ground-breaking and beautiful ‘Symphony Of Lies’ which saw eight of the original album tracks broken down and reinterpreted with strings and sound design as a total juxtaposition to the standard dance floor remix package.
Hyper’s music has been featured on Orange Is The New Black, BBC 6 Nations television coverage and the IMAX trailer for the Everest movie, with remixes for Kelisand Killaflaw also under his belt. His latest studio album (2015’s ‘Bully’) featured Neil Ormandy fresh from his work with Eric Prydz and the stunning voice of Robert Shields, and was widely hailed as a return to form.
Bullet Height, meanwhile, recently released the official video for ‘Hold Together,’ filmed on location in Berlin by director and long-time artistic collaborator Valquire Veljkovic.

The new track shows yet another side to the increasingly apparent songwriting talents of band members Jon Courtney (Pure Reason Revolution) and Sammi Doll (IAMX), pulling in the heavier elements in the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode and The Prodigy, and blending them with the hard techno sounds of Gesaffelstein, Gatekeeper, and the brooding, sexual underbelly of Berlin’s macabre underground dance music scene.
Look out for more news on Bullet Height in the coming months.
