High school acquaintances, Rich Garcia and Greg Jimenez Jr., had a chance encounter in 2006 where they bonded over a love for heavy metal and playing music. This led to daily jam sessions and eventually a good base of original material, so they decided to start a band. Over the next few years, Garcia and Jimenez auditioned many different musicians to complete their band but they were all short lived. Then in late 2008, they met Brent Robinson, who joined the unnamed band as lead guitar, and the three immediately clicked. They decided to call themselves, BLACK, and began to launch their band into the local metal scene. After a few shows with original singer, David Jones, Dane Price joined the group as bassist. With the lineup of five solid musicians complete, they began to gig and perform immediately! Playing anywhere and everywhere that would allow them to wreak some havoc and destroy eardrums. Frequently seen performing at The Boardwalk, a well-known Sacramento concert venue, they were able to play with many fine local bands and major label artists such as: Lazarus A.D., Archaic, Bonded by Blood and Death Angel to name a few. In early 2012, the band’s momentum was going strong when, David Jones and Dane Price, moved on from the band for personal reasons. Despite the loss of Jones and Price, Marc Terribilini (Robinson’s college roommate from 2003 and extremely skilled guitar player) contacted the band with news that a young producer/studio manager in Oakland named Paul Glueckert had been admiring their music was interested in working with them. It was not long before the founding members of BLACK sat down with both Glueckert and Terribilini and began talks of collaborating on a full-length album. Glueckert helped BLACK establish FM RECORDER Studios as their home base to record the album. Shortly thereafter, Terribilini approached by the band and offered a position as lead guitarist on the album. Robinson would become the bassist and backup vocalist, helping the band to keep a stronger foundation. Now with Terribilini on board, the band pursued a new vocalist. They continued to play shows and perform during the recording process with various stand in vocalists and sometimes without vocals, offering a rare experience when it comes to heavy metal! Eventually Glueckert’s classically trained vocal chords were the final piece to the puzzle for BLACK. With Glueckert singing and producing the album, BLACK had an album that was undeniable. Once done at FM RECORDERS, the band took the album to Michael Romanowski Mastering Studio in San Francisco where they began work with a very talented mastering engineer named Piper Payne. Now, April 2013, the album is in the final stages of completion and will be ready for purchase very soon! Once the album is complete, the band is going to resume a heavy gig schedule to raise money and support replication and distribution of their debut album “United States of War”.

Shots’ firing overhead, out of breath, thankful to be alive, an exhausted, courageous soldier takes cover in a nearby trench. Overcome with tragedy, the cadet looks down to carefully remove his worn down combat boots to discover his feet numb and blue, knocking him back with an overwhelming smell of decay and gangrene. This phenomenon is known as “jungle rot”. With a little imagination, visualize this horrifyingly grotesque predicament as it would be in heavy metal form – teeming with despair, brutality, darkness and volatility. The sinister picture you have just painted comes to life in four-piece death metal act JUNGLE ROT, who has been triumphantly destroying the metal scene since 1994.

Directed by Carlo Lizzani (Wake Up and Kill, The Hills Run Red) and with a superb soundtrack by Riz Ortolani (Day of Anger, Cannibal Holocaust), Requiescant – Latin for ‘Rest in Peace’ – ranks among the finest Spaghetti Westerns. Alex Cox named it the “one film to prove that the Italian Western was not solely Sergio Leone’s”. Lou Castel (Fists in the Pocket, A Bullet for General) plays a young man who was raised to be a pacifist by a travelling preacher after Confederates massacred his family. But when his step-sister runs away, the pursuit reveals a natural talent as a sharp-shooter as well as a bloody and unexpected confrontation with his past. Joining Castel are an impressive array of performers, including Mark Damon (Black Sabbath, The Fall of the House of Usher) as the sadistic aristocratic villain, Franco Citti (Accattone, The Godfather) as his henchman, and the great Italian filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini (Salò) in a rare acting role as a revolutionary priest.

The Mutilator – Dual Format DVD & Blu-ray – ORDER HERE

Although the slasher film was in decline by the mid-1980s, there were still some grisly delights to be had… and they don’t come much grislier than writer-director Buddy Cooper’s sickening stalk-and-slash classic The Mutilator! When Ed receives a message from his father asking him to go and lock up the family’s beach condo for the winter, it seems like the perfect excuse for an alcohol-fuelled few days away with his friends. After all, his dad has forgiven him for accidentally blowing mom away with a shotgun several years ago… hasn’t he? But no sooner are the teens on the island than they find themselves stalked by a figure with an axe (and a hook, and an onboard motor) to grind… Originally entitled Fall Break (watch out for the incongruous theme song of the same name!), The Mutilator has earned a reputation amongst horror fans as one of the ‘holy grails’ of 80s splatter mayhem due to its highly inventive (and not to say, decidedly gruesome) kill sequences, courtesy of FX wizard Mark Shostrom (Videodrome, Evil Dead II). Finally making its long-awaited bow in High-Definition, The Mutilator has returned to terrorise a whole new generation of horror fans!

Bonus Materials

LAMB OF GOD Unleashes Official “Overlord” Music Video

Oh yeah- if you’re out and about, watching the video on your pocket hate machine (mobile phone), try not to wander into traffic. A little situational awareness goes a long way.”

American heavy rock band LAMB OF GOD have just revealed the official music video for the brand new track “Overlord”. As with “512”, “Overlord” is directed by Jorge Torres-Torres.

LAMB

“Overlord” is the second official music video to be released in support of the band’s upcoming seventh full-length album, VII: Sturm Und Drang, hitting stores and digital retailers on July 24, 2015 via Epic Records.

In addition to listening to “Overlord” on Spotify, fans can also pre-order VII: Sturm Und Drang via iTunes and Amazon and receive this song + “512” and “Still Echoes” as instant-grat tracks. Several exclusive pre-order bundles are available via http://smarturl.it/vii-preorder.

“Overlord” is what some may consider the most unique and versatile track on the record – a new play on the revered LAMB OF GOD sound. The track “Overlord” uniquely features clean vocals and lyrics penned by vocalist Randy Blythe, and the video itself features his own personal concept and treatment.

“For years I’ve wished that I could have a movie camera directly linked to my brain so that some of the ideas I see in my mind’s eye could be translated into film for others to watch,” Blythe begins. “Although that is obviously an impossibility (and probably a good thing- I find many things amusing that might not be so funny to everyone else), the video for “Overlord” is the next best thing for me. I came up with the idea and wrote the treatment for this video myself- to see Jorge (the director) take my concept, add his own touches, and use his technical know-how to translate my “mental script” into a suitably dark visual narrative is just an awesome, awesome experience for me.

I wrote the song about the dangers of self-obsession in our distressingly myopic and increasingly entitled “me-now/now-me” culture; just like the couple in the video, many people can’t seem to look past their own relatively small problems to see the bigger picture: the world is in serious trouble. Having a bad day at work, or a fight with your significant other, or getting a crappy haircut or table service does not in any way shape or form constitute an emergency. Sometimes things just don’t work out the way we want them to- deal with it. People who only see their own problems eventually wind up alone because no one wants to hear their crap anymore- we all know someone like that, always whining and complaining about some inconsequential setback as if it were the apocalypse. This song is for those people.

Oh yeah- if you’re out and about, watching the video on your pocket hate machine (mobile phone), try not to wander into traffic. A little situational awareness goes a long way.”

VII: Sturm Und Drang is once again produced and mixed by Josh Wilbur with engineering by Wilbur, Nick Rowe, and Kyle McAulay, and was recorded at NRG Recording Studios in North Hollywood, CA and Suburban Soul Studios in Torrance, CA. LAMB OF GOD’s last album, the 2012 Grammy-nominated Resolution, debuted at #3 on the US Billboard Top 200, #1 on the US Top Hard Rock and Rock Album charts, #2 on the Canadian albums chart, and #3 on the Australian albums chart.

ABOUT LAMB OF GOD:

Richmond, VA natives LAMB OF GOD originally formed in 1994 as Burn The Priest while in college together at Virginia Commonwealth University, initially performing in meagre venues and hocking rough demos amongst the local scene. In 1998, the band changed their moniker to LAMB OF GOD, which would mark their impending ascension to top-tier status, as well as one of the only tangible career deviations that the band would ever undertake – having consistently released chart-topper after chart-topper while maintaining a true and constant line-up of members and increasingly growing fanbase; a rarity in modern music. The band’s first major release, 2000’s New American Gospel, was immediately touted as an instant metal classic. AllMusic stated it best, “The essential signatures of post-Pantera metal are in abundance on Lamb of God’s inaugural album. New American Gospel provides a mighty oak upon which gritty American metal’s faith is maintained, effectively bridging the ’90s’ insistence upon drill-sergeant technicality and the old school’s determined focus on riff construction.”

In 2007, just a short time after putting out monumentally successful releases Ashes of the Wake (Album, 2004, #27 of 200 debut), Killadelphia (DVD, 2004, RIAA Platinum), and Sacrament (Album, 2006, #8 of 200 debut), LAMB OF GOD was honored with a Grammy nomination for the track “Redneck”. This would mark the first of four Grammy nominations for the band. After the release of Walk With Me In Hell (DVD, 2008), the second and third Grammy nominations came in 2010 and 2011 for tracks “Set to Fail” and “In Your Words”, both cut from Wrath (CD, 2009, #2 of 200 debut). The fourth nomination arrived for the band’s track “Ghost Walking”, cut from their 2012 albumResolution (CD, #3 of 200 debut). Now, on the cusp of releasing their seventh full-length album VII: Sturm Und Drang, the five-piece is poised to prove their lasting consistency by offering another blistering contribution of the highest quality heavy metal – a record that no one other than LAMB OF GOD could truly execute.

Having amassed the globe with countless world tours and millions of albums sold, all-the-while overcoming countless hurdles ranging from personal demons to vocalist Randy Blythe’s 2013 trial in Prague (which resulted in the acclaimed 2014 full-length feature documentary, As The Palaces Burn, and upcoming book, Dark Days: A Memoir, authored by the frontman and releasing in July), LAMB OF GOD stands the test of time as the biggest, most influential heavy metal band of the new millennium.
