Fit For An Autopsy Announce Dates With Aborted‏

Jersey Metalers FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY have announced a new batch of co-headlining tour dates with ABORTED. Label-mates DARK SERMON are set to open the bill.

The band is putting the finishing touches on an all new, yet to be titled LP due out later this year. “The new album is a bit of a step in a new direction for the band,” says guitarist Pat Sheridan. “It feels really intense.”

The band set up camp at The Machine Shop in New Jersey with guitar player and renowned producer Will Putney at the helm. The new effort will be the anticipated follow-up to the critically acclaimed Hellbound, released in 2013. The biggest change since then has been the band’s vocalist. After the departure of Nate Johnson earlier last year, Greg Wilburn (Oblige) briefly filled in so the band could carry out their touring plans. Just before the band entered The Machine Shop, they brought in Joe Badolato (Diamond Cutter) as the brand new full-time vocalist.

“We found Joe at a perfect time,” says guitarist Will Putney. “We had just come off months of touring with a vocalist we knew wasn’t built to handle the lifestyle and stresses that come with being in a full-time band.” Badolato’s first show with the band was at The Brooklyn Asylum in Brooklyn, NY.

The band recently wrapped up a highly successful run supporting SUICIDE SILENCE alongside label-mates WITHIN THE RUINS. Putney concludes, “Joe is an extremely humble and down to earth dude and is a killer singer. Bringing him into Fit For An Autopsy has elevated the band to a really cool creative spot, and we’re excited about the future with him as our frontman.”

Attila Confirmed for Main Stage of 2015 Vans Warped Tour‏

Attila slayed stages all over the U.S. in the fall upon the November 24 release of Guilty Pleasure.

But your boys will be back and taking over North America once again this summer, as they will return to the Vans Warped Tour, performing on the main stage for the entire trek.

Attila are obviously enthused about spending their summer vacation as part of Vans Warped Tour for the third year in a row. They are also performing on the entire tour for back-to-back years.

“We are extremely excited to be spending another summer on Warped Tour with all of you,” singer Fronz said about the good news. “This is by far our favorite tour to be on, and we have lots of exciting plans for you. Come hang out with us all summer long on the Main Stage!”

That sounds like an order that the Villain Army will have no choice but to follow.

In other Attila news, Fronz recently launched his photo-sharing app, Spur, which allows users to post and share any photos they wish, without commenting, making for a truly hate-free experience. All details about Spur are here.

The band’s “Hate Me” video dropped earlier this winter, with Fronz and co. posing as cops and reinventing the notion of the long arm of the law as only they can. It has caused quite a bit of a stir. Put your hands up and watch it here.

Fans can grab Guilty Pleasure here.

KRISIUN enters the studio with Erik Rutan‏

Death metal maniacs KRISIUN just entered Mana Recording Studios in Florida, USA to start the recording of their new album, set to be released in the late summer/early autumn of 2015.

The producer of the new album is nobody less than Erik Rutan, the brain and heart of death metal masters HATE ETERNAL and former guitarist of MORBID ANGEL. Rutan has worked as a producer for his own band as well as for CANNIBAL CORPSE, NILE, SIX FEET UNDER, MALEVOLENT CREATION, MADBALL, AGNOSTIC FRONT, to name just a few– additionally, he also co-produced KRISIUN’s Conquerors of Armageddon album back in 1999!

Rutan comments:
“Working with KRISIUN at Mana Recording is such an honor for me. We worked together on ‘Conquerors of Armageddon’ in 1999 during the beginning stages of my producing career and for us to work together again now is just fantastic! KRISIUN are one of the best death metal bands out there. Their bond musically and creatively is so unique. The new material is outstanding….fast and heavy with this savage primal brutality! Lots of vibe and dynamics. The drum tones and performances came out pummeling. The rhythm guitars are huge and tight as hell. The bass is punishingly heavy and attacking. We have started tracking vocals now and starting to work on additional guitars and solos as well. This will be an album every death metal fan surely cannot miss!”

KRISIUN is also confirmed for the following European festivals for this summer; more club show dates to follow shortly:

Secrets Of The Sky To Release Sophomore Full-Length Via Metal Blade Records This May‏

Oakland-based atmospheric doom quintet and recent Metal Blade signees, SECRETS OF THE SKY, will release their long-awaited sophomore full-length this May. Titled Pathway, the mammoth thirteen-track follow-up to 2013’s critically-heralded To Sail Black Waters full-length was engineered, mixed, mastered and co-produced by Juan Urteaga of Trident Studios with SECRETS OF THE SKY and finds the band at their most poignant.

Dark, brooding, pure, eclectic, Pathway features Garett Gazay fluctuating between monstrous growls and clean, soothing vocal cascades, all the while complimenting the twisted compositions of guitarists Andrew Green and Clayton Bartholomew. Bassist Ryan Healy and drummer Lance Lea round out the lineup, their rhythms and distinctive voices adding further depth to the collective’s meticulous, blackened soundscrapes. Sonically, SECRETS OF THE SKY aimed for a massive, clean, and organic sounding production. Much time was invested in obtaining huge drum sounds and the focus was on single performance takes throughout the process. The result is an ambitious foray into conceptual storytelling, coupled with emotional music full of peaks and valleys. This is a metal record, to be sure, but more importantly, it sounds like an album of music. This is not a random sequencing of songs or a search for a “hit” single; the tracks all have their place in the story, and the cuts in between actually drive the narrative through sound effects and ambiance. SECRETS OF THE SKY’s Pathway is an experience to be had, as well as a record to merely be heard.

Comments Bartholomew of first single, “Three Swords:” “‘Three Swords’ was the first song we put together for the new album when we started writing it back a year or so ago. In fact, the songs on the album were written in the order they appear on the record. The first album, To Sail Black Waters, ends with a single guitar part fading out, and the same riff fades in to the Pathway album via ‘Three Swords.’ The song is just a piece of the overall puzzle that constitutes Pathway, which I believe as an album is more well-rounded and dynamic as a whole than any of our previous work.

HAMMER KING’s ‘Kingdom of the Hammer King’ coming May 5 on Cruz Del Sur Music‏

CRUZ DEL SUR MUSIC will release the debut album Kingdom of the Hammer King from new epic power metal sensation HAMMER KING on May 5 in North America!

HAMMER KING represent the perfect, balanced heavy sound of the German power metal tradition, highlighted by  the right dose of epic tones. The music  moves around the figure of singer/guitarist/composer Titan Fox (ROSS THE BOSS’ singer). The line-up is completed by former SALTATIO MORTIS drummer Dolph A. Macallan , K.K. Basement on bass and Gino Wilde on guitar.  All the musicians involved in this band have an aged and trained background in metal music, as demonstrated through the masterful Kingdom of the Hammer King!

What surprises most on the album is the catchy immediacy of the compositions. Indeed, the melodies and glorious guitar solos embed and remain in the brain. “Aderlass;  blood of Sacrifice,” “Chancellor of Glory,” and the title track are a perfect examples of epic power metal anthems that’ll have you singing at the top of your lungs and fist-pumping for the duration. All killer, no filler; Kingdom of the Hammer King is the complete package!

Kingdom Of The Hammer King was recorded and produced at the Greywolf Studios by POWERWOLF’s own Charles Greywolf The cover artwork was created by German Artist Timo Würz who was able to capture with his art  the essence and power of the band. The LP version will include a bonus track “Leather Indians (of Steel).”
