Brazil’s maidens of death metal CRYPTA to play a rare Sacramento mid-week show. February 27.

Since 2019, Crypta’s membersFernanda Lira (bass, vocals), Jéssica di Falchi (guitar), Tainá Bergamaschi (guitar) and Luana Dametto (drums) – have gained considerable traction and a massive fanbase both at home and abroad. With their semi-recently released sophomore record –  ‘Shades of Sorrow’ on Napalm Records – the quartet have been catapulted into headliner status all over the globe.

Propelled by standout tracks such as “Lord Of Ruins” as well as “Poisonous Apathy” and “The Outsider,” their latest showcases a band confident playing myriad styles of death metal. Fans of Vader, Nervosa, Krisiun, and more melodic death metal fare will also find great reward on tracks such as “Trial Of Traitors.” Unlike much of the death metal diaspora, these four ladies have created a ferocious wall of sound that can uniquely be tracked back to them. With blastbeats, double-bass tangents, and blitzkrieg solos, singer Lira wields demonic tales that recall the finer moments of Warner Bros./Giant Records era Morbid Angel and newer Destruction without copying its predecessors’ nuances in verse.

Their current US run of shows started in Florida just after their much talked about appearance on the 70,000 Tons Of Metal cruise. Sacramentan’s will be pleased to know their only California show is in our fair city before eventually wrapping up in Seattle, Washington just days later. Originally booked in the much smaller upstairs venue, The Starlet Room, advance ticket sales mandated Crypta play at the much larger downstairs Harlow’s venue which has a 400 capacity. Expect loads of Bay Area residents and local Nevada metalheads making the weekday trek in attendance.

Said the band about their US shows, “We are so happy to be back in the US! Since we were confirmed for 70,000 Tons, we thought it would be a good idea to be back in the US to mainly cover territories we haven’t been to yet on our previous run there, so it’s gonna be awesome to reach fans who haven’t had the chance to watch us yet in the states we’re visiting for the first time. Also, bringing the new album setup on a first ever headlining tour around there is gonna be extra special for us!”

Crypta headline Harlow’s located at 2708 J Street in Downtown Sacramento on Tuesday, February 27th with special guests Contortion and Abominous The Final Godsend. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts promptly at 8pm. Tickets are $20 advance and can be purchased here at harlows.com. All ages are welcome.
