The Los Angeles-based band EVILDEAD, formed in 1987 have returned from their four-year hiatus and don’t disappoint one bit. The second the opening track F.A.F.O. started, I took my headphones off and started bobbing my head and turned it up!! It’s records like this that make the neighbors hate me!! But, it is my job to be unbiased and tell you what I honestly think.

On the song “Poetic Omen,” which tries to incorporate some less heavy and even some melodic vocals into it. Yeah, they gave it a shot alright, but thank God they still had some crunchy shit left to fill the song. But I literally couldn’t stop moving throughout the entire EP (it runs about 37 minutes).
Phil Flores (vocals), Juan Garcia, and Albert Gonzalez (lead and rhythm guitars) Karlos Medina (bass) and Rob Alaniz (drums) leave me already waiting for the next installment of Doom, and the real main complaint is that I wish it was longer. This nine-track heavy piece of music just makes you want to rip your fuckin face off!! I’m going to listen to it again!! I think some of my neighbors are still trying to sleep.
For us vinyl fans, there is a bonus live track (The Death & Resurrection Show). So far, there’s no tour set to support the release, which will be sooner than later (on May 24th), but they are playing the California Death Fest on October 12th. So, go form a friendly circle of hell for them. Hopefully, I’ll see you in Oakland that weekend.
