The wait is over. After more than three decades, West Coast thrash metal titans Dark Angel return to the live stage in full force with The Extinction Level Event North American Tour — and on October 15, they descend upon Berkeley’s UC Theatre for a night that promises nothing short of chaos, precision, and pure sonic warfare.

Celebrating their long-awaited comeback album, Extinction Level Event (Reversed Records), Dark Angel is set to deliver a set that spans their genre-defining discography — from Darkness Descends to Time Does Not Heal — while unleashing the fire of their new material. This is more than just a tour. It’s a resurrection.

Anchored by legendary drummer Gene Hoglan and classic members Eric Meyer, Mike Gonzalez, and Ron Rinehart, with guitar shredder Laura Christine joining the ranks, Dark Angel’s return is a defiant reminder of why they’ve remained icons of the thrash underground for over 40 years.

Joining them in Berkeley for this unmissable date are some of the fiercest names in metal’s uncompromising lineage: Arizona’s politically-charged thrashers Sacred Reich, Bay Area bruisers Vio-Lence, crossover pioneers Hirax, the sleazy blackened speed of Midnight, and rising upstarts Interceptor.

From the first downbeat to the final riff, October 15 will be a masterclass in extremity, a celebration of thrash’s past, present, and future.
