California metalcore survivors AS I LAY DYING have officially reignited the machine with their new single “Echoes,” signaling the start of yet another turbulent — and defiant — new era. The track arrives less than a year after the band’s second major lineup implosion, when several longtime members exited amid public tension and allegations surrounding frontman Tim Lambesis.

But if anyone knows how to rebuild from the wreckage, it’s Lambesis. He’s reassembled the band with a fierce new cast of players: Chris Clancy (Mutiny Within) on vocals and bass, Bill Hudson, Don Vedda, and Jack Daniels (War Of Ages) on guitars, and Tim Yeung (ex-Divine Heresy) on drums. The striking music video, directed by Tom Flynn, captures a darker, cinematic edge to the band’s rebirth.
“Echoes” is both a statement and a spark — layered in emotional grit, technical precision, and that unmistakable AILD heaviness. It’s the sound of a group refusing to fade quietly, even when surrounded by controversy.
The single also sets the stage for AS I LAY DYING’s European tour kicking off later this month, where they’ll mark the 20th anniversary of their landmark album Shadows Are Security — a fitting reminder of how far they’ve come, and how many times they’ve clawed their way back.
🔥 Love them or loathe them, AS I LAY DYING aren’t done echoing — they’re just getting louder.
