Interview: Kate Davies of PUPIL SLICER on Fleshwork, Finding Balance, and Burning It All Down

London-based mathcore powerhouse Pupil Slicer are about to unleash their most ferocious and emotionally charged work yet — Fleshwork, out November 7th via Prosthetic Records. Known for fusing technical chaos with raw vulnerability, the trio has evolved from the angular aggression of Mirrors and the conceptual sprawl of Blossom into something sharper, darker, and deeply human. We caught up with frontwoman Kate Davies — guitarist, vocalist, and primary songwriter — to talk about the new record, the band’s creative chemistry, and why sometimes you have to burn everything down to start anew.

With Fleshwork, Pupil Slicer have carved out something both visceral and reflective — a sonic purge that refuses to look away from the world’s ugliness while channeling it into cathartic art. It’s heavy, human, and heartbreakingly real. Catch Pupil Slicer on tour across the UK starting November 25th, and dive into Fleshwork now via pupilslicer.com
