The heavy metal visionaries known as AVATAR — vocalist Johannes Eckerström, guitarists Jonas Jarlsby and Tim Öhrström, bassist Henrik Sandelin, and drummer John Alfredsson — unleashed their latest masterwork, Don’t Go in the Forest, last Halloween. Fitting, of course.

Following its release, AVATAR stormed across North America on a massive headline run — and that was only the beginning. What followed has become a truly Herculean international touring campaign, with no signs of slowing down.

In fact, AVATAR plan to remain on the road for the foreseeable future — possibly forever.

Today, the band announces a Spring 2026 North American headline tour, launching April 16 in Sacramento, CA, and running through May 20 in Hampton Beach, NH. The trek includes high-profile appearances at Welcome to Rockville and Sonic Temple.

Joining AVATAR on the road will be Fleshgod Apocalypse and Frozen Soul.

Speaking on the band’s return to the U.S., Eckerström shares:

“USA. It started off innocently enough. Hiking along on a trail. Sunny. Pleasant. Safe. Then night came, and the trail slowly faded. You can’t go back, as you don’t know where you came from. You don’t even dare to turn around, as you can feel someone, or something, watching. What you were, all the way back in the warm embrace of civilization, doesn’t matter. Here. it’s just you and the trees.”

He adds ominously:

“We will be seeing you.”
