As the lights go down, the crowd cheers as the band members enter the stage one by one. Then finally, legendary Pantera vocalist Philip H. Anselmo makes his appearance and all hell breaks loose; the crowd goes wild. Spotted in the crowd was a group of hardcore shirtless Pantera fans holding up beer cups that sang along passionately to the song “Walk” which gave me a moment of nostalgia. Continue reading

The Final Campaign, Leg Seven of Slayer’s Final World Tour, kicked off in Asheville, NC on November 2 and wrapped up with two nights at the L.A. Forum on November 29 and November 30, seeing the band end its touring career in Southern California where it all began back in 1981. Primus, Ministry and Philip H. From the start the symphonic metal band’s guitarist Timo Somers and bassist Otto Schimmel Penninck rallied the crowd with their opening song “Burning Bridges”, once the very charismatic vocalist Charlotte Wessels appeared on stage, the crowd went completely wild.
