Blessed Curse, a Northern California-based trio, have been making a name for themselves through selfless hard work playing countless shows and unleashing some of the most punishing true heavy metal. Like many, the band began with humble beginnings as childhood friends forging their love of music into their own band, and over the past ten years they’ve grown up and became a meticulous killing militia primed to join the bigger league and take things to a more international playing field.

Since the completion of their debut, the band have returned to the live front assaulting audiences with their intense barrage of metal mayhem and sharing stages all over the west coast with bands like Death Angel, Destruction, Warbringer, D.R.I., Evil Dead, Hatchet, Bonded By Blood, Exmortus, Sacrificial Slaughter, and Witchaven with plans to do a full US tour again this summer, 2012.

Despite having formed the group as school children the trio were now grown men and their commitment to their cause and each other is second to none.

Mastodon  have just released a luridly eye-popping, brain-melting 12″ vinyl picture disc for the track “Asleep In The Deep”, from their current album, ONCE MORE ‘ROUND THE SUN. The B-side is an instrumental version of “Asleep In The Deep”, which is exclusive to this release. Have a gander at the stunning artwork above, taken from the beautifully disturbing video for the track. The video itself has dazzled fans and filmmakers alike with its lysergically-laced, twisted imagery as only one might expect from the questionable minds of Atlanta-based Special FX Guru, Shane Morton, and renowned American artist Skinner (cover artist for ONCE MORE ‘ROUND THE SUN) which debuted on Adult Swim some months back. Once you’ve seen it you’ll want to know how this piece of award-worthy filmmaking came to fruition.  See video below. Mastodon is excited to have a limited webstore exclusive bundle to celebrate the video which includes the “Asleep in the Deep” t-shirt and 24″x36″ movie-style poster printed on 100# text paper featuring  the exclusive art by Skinner.  Order your exclusive Mastodon goods here. The UK release date for “Asleep In The Deep” is Nov 20th.

Sacrilege: Premieres Music Video for First New Song in 25 Years‏

SACRILEGE‘s 1985 debut album Behind The Realms of Madness garnered no small acclaim at the time of its release, but has since been heralded as a classic of the era and as a release that was far ahead of its time; artists like Bolt Thrower and Napalm Death have even cited the album as an enormous influence on their music.

‘Legendary UK crust/thrash pioneers SACRILEGE have shared a new music video taken from the remastered reissue of their 1985 classic Behind The Realms of Madness. The song, “Feed”, is a bonus track on the reissue and the band’s first new recording in over 25 years.

Now fully remastered by Brad Boatright (Sleep, Hooded Menace, Obituary) with seven previously unreleased bonus tracks and expanded art and liner notes, the Relapse reissue of Behind The Realms of Madness (due out November 13) is the first-ever authorized reissue of SACRILEGE‘s landmark debut. Behind The Realms of Madness is available for physical preorder via Relapse and digitally via Bandcamp.

The band’s 2nd release Within the Prophecy (1987) pushed SACRILEGE further into the realm of thrash metal, earning the band increased credibility and prestige in metal circles. SACRILEGE later moved towards folk and doom with its 1989 LP Turn Back Trilobite, a record that displayed the band’s true versatility and which cemented the band’s reputation for innovation and strong songwriting.

Twiztid Unleashes Short-Film ‘A Place In The Woods’ featuring Horror Greats Sid Haig and Kane Hodder‏

TWIZTID have often toed into the world of horror films over the course of the last several years, and “A Place In The Woods” is just one step further into the horror film world for Madrox and Monoxide. “This video is another successful step closer to making horror films! The demented duo TWIZTID are celebrating Halloween with their craziest video yet – the highly-anticipated “Sickman” video sequel, “A Place In The Woods”. The video is a short-film slasher feature – make sure to grab your popcorn and a buddy because you won’t want to be alone for this one!

“A Place In The Woods” stars none other than the original “Sickman” Kane Hodder, also recognized worldwide as portraying Jason in the majority of the Friday the 13thfilms (7, 8, 9 and 10), and legendary actor Sid Haig, best known for his roles as Captain Spaulding in Rob Zombie’s House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects. The short-film also stars Majik Ninja Entertainment artist Blaze Ya Dead Homie.
The script for the video was written by Jamie Madrox and is directed by Ryan Archibald, also known for directing many of TWIZTID‘s music videos such as “HAHAHAHAHA”, “Down With Us”, “A Little Fucked Up”, and “Breakdown”. Make-up for the video was spearheaded by Tate Steinsiek of SyFy‘s Face Off fame.
