Coal Chamber is an American nu metal band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1993. Prior to Coal Chamber, Dez Fafara and Meegs Rascón formed the band She’s In Pain in 1992. The two decided to create Coal Chamber. They disbanded in 2003 after ten years together, but announced a reunion in September 2011. Their first drummer, Jon Tor, was eventually replaced by Mike Cox (who beat out his older brother for the spot). After bass guitarist Rayna Foss joined, the Coal Chamber lineup was complete.
In 1997, their first album Coal Chamber was released. The album produced one single and a video, “Loco”. The video was also added as an extra after the ending credits of Dee Snider’s film Strangeland. The band also recorded an exclusive song for the soundtrack titled “Not Living”.
Chamber Music followed two years later. Between the two releases and after the band’s tour with the metal act Sevendust, bass guitarist Rayna Foss married Sevendust’s drummer Morgan Rose and became pregnant, necessitating another bass guitar player on tour, a role filled by Nadja Peulen.
Foss came back for the recording of Coal Chamber’s third album, but left after the studio sessions to raise her daughter. Dark Days was released in spring 2002. Their only single and video was for the track “Fiend”

Emmure is an American Deathcore band formed in 2003. Originally based in New Fairfield, Connecticut, but now residing in Queens, New York, the group has a total of seven releases. With their two demos entitled Nine Eleven Zero Four and Demo 2005 they attracted the attention of This City Is Burning Records through which the band released their debut extended play The Complete Guide to Needlework.
Victory Records took notice of the band after the release of their extended play and signed them. They released their first full-length album Goodbye to the Gallows in 2007. The band has been signed to the label ever since. Their second, third and fourth albums The Respect Issue (2008), Felony (2009) and Speaker of the Dead (2011) were all distributed through Victory. After the band’s initial four-album contract with Victory expired, they signed again with Victory to distribute their fifth and sixth studio albums Slave to the Game (2012) and Eternal Enemies (2014) as well..
Emmure was started in 2003. Frankie Palmeri (from Queens, New York) met Joe and Ben Lionetti (from New Fairfield, Connecticut) through an internet message board. Palmeri then traveled to Connecticut to begin rehearsals together. Bassist Mark Davis and guitarist Jesse Ketive, residents of New Fairfield and Queens, respectively, then joined when the three began another recruiting search for members.Ketive was formerly in the band Warfix, in which he played guitar alongside Sean Murphy and Mike Kaabe of Endwell (Kaabe eventually Joining Emmure himself in April 2009) and Bryan Goldsman of Southside Panic (and co-producer of Felony). The band’s name “Emmure” is a reference to immurement, a form of execution.

Suicide Silence is an American deathcore band from Riverside, California. Formed in 2002, the band has released four full-length studio albums, one EP and eleven music videos. They have received a fair amount of praise, being awarded the Revolver Golden God award for “Best New Talent” in 2009. The group currently consists of vocalist Hernan “Eddie” Hermida, guitarists Chris Garza and Mark Heylmun, bassist Dan Kenny and drummer Alex Lopez.
Suicide Silence were founded in 2002 in Riverside, California, and were at that time, a side project of many of the members of other groups. The band performed their first show at a local area within Riverside and at that time, the line-up consisted of the members Chris Garza and Rick Ash as guitarists, Mike Bodkins as bassist, Josh Goddard as drummer and two vocalists, Mitch Lucker and Tanner Womack. Shortly after their first performance, Womack was fired from the band and they released their first demo the following year. They released their second demo in 2004. By the proceeding year, the members took the band more seriously and were no-longer deemed as a side project, they would then advance to record their third and final demo in 2006 after the band recorded and released their first public studio quality material entitled, Suicide Silence EP which was released through Third Degree Records and later re-released in the UK through the English label In at the Deep End Records. Drummer, Josh Goddard departed from the band in 2006 and was replaced by Alex Lopez who was the former guitarist for the bands Blacheart Eulogy and The Funeral Pyre before his joining.
Solid State Recording artists, Fit For A King have announced a new album, Slave To Nothing, to be released October 14th. Produced by Will Putney (Suicide Silence, Miss May I) Slave To Nothing promises to be their biggest sounding and most cohesive work to date. Although composed of a humble and unassuming quartet in their early 20’s, this is not a statement to be taken lightly.
In addition to the lyrical themes, the band says Will Putney’s input as a producer also helped the progression on the new album. On the musical differences found with Slave To Nothing, Kirby notes “we were very green when we recorded the other albums. Performance wise we were tight but after getting signed we didn’t have much experience in experimenting in the studio or developing the songs. This time around working with Will, he really gave input and above the board dedication to make this record great! Some of that input ranged from being honest enough to tell us to trash certain riffs because we could do better to even noticing repetition of the word ‘me’ in a verse and suggesting revisions.”
While fans attending the band’s sets during Warped Tour have gotten some previews of the forthcoming album, Fit For A King have confirmed tour dates from August well into Spring 2015. Slave To Nothing is coming, don’t miss it.
