Coal Chamber is an American nu metal band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1993.[1] Prior to Coal Chamber, Dez Fafara and Meegs Rascón formed the band She’s In Pain in 1992. The two decided to create Coal Chamber. They disbanded in 2003 after ten years together, but announced a reunion in September 2011. Their first drummer, Jon Tor, was eventually replaced by Mike Cox (who beat out his older brother for the spot). After bass guitarist Rayna Foss joined, the Coal Chamber lineup was complete.

In 1997, their first album Coal Chamber was released. The album produced one single and a video, “Loco”. The video was also added as an extra after the ending credits of Dee Snider’s film Strangeland. The band also recorded an exclusive song for the soundtrack titled “Not Living”.

Chamber Music followed two years later. Between the two releases and after the band’s tour with the metal act Sevendust, bass guitarist Rayna Foss married Sevendust’s drummer Morgan Rose and became pregnant, necessitating another bass guitar player on tour, a role filled by Nadja Peulen.

Foss came back for the recording of Coal Chamber’s third album, but left after the studio sessions to raise her daughter. Dark Days was released in spring 2002. Their only single and video was for the track “Fiend”

New Potential Threat SF Video Interview In Berkeley, California

Mike Noble, Daniel Sheridan and Kenny Noble of Potential Threat SF share their thoughts with Todd Owens of Capital Chaos TV 10/25/14 @ 924 Gilman Street – Berkeley, California

San Francisco Bay Area thrash bands have long been known for their inyourface approach to music, and Potential Threat SF are no strangers to that tradition.

Originally formed as a fivepiece in 1986, they have shared the stage with everyone from Testament to Slayer to CroMags to Nuclear Assault, and just recently returned from touring with Death Angel.

Their hard working, no holds barred attitude carries over to their live shows. Though they put every ounce of grit and determination into their set, they still manage not to sound like angry old fucks. Their mentality is simple it’s just as easy for a band to get the audience involved in their show as it is to be pissed off and push them away. In short, they still have fun and show it on stage and to the fans, regardless of how long they’ve been playing or how many people are in the attendance.

Their newest offering, “Civilization Under Threat” (to be released by OSM Records), gives a nod to the old school by combining aggressive, commanding vocals with dual guitars and a thundering bottom end. Engineered and mastered by Juan Urteaga (Machine Head, Testament, Heathen) at Trident Studios has given the album a massively heavy quality without being overproduced.

Zakk Wylde Announces The Unblackened Tour‏

BLS

(New York, NY) – Hard rock legends BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, fronted by guitar icon ZAKK WYLDE, have announced the Unblackened tour. Originally performed as a one night only concert at Club Nokia in Los Angeles for a live CD/DVD release two years ago, the show will now make its way across the U.S. The show will feature intimate versions of some of the band’s most popular songs, as well as songs from Wylde’s best-selling solo album Book of Shadows & his Southern rock band Pride & Glory. “I always wanted to take Unblackened on the road, we just didn’t have the time until now,” said Wylde. “You can take a song that you’ve played thousands of times and rearrange it, and all of a sudden it’s something totally fresh. The attitude of the songs doesn’t change when we play them acoustically–the tunes are gritty regardless.”
