Revocation launches video for first single from new album, ‘The Outer Ones’

On September 28th, Revocation will release their new album, The Outer Ones, via Metal Blade Records. For a preview of The Outer Ones, a video for the first single, “Of Unworldly Origin” can be viewed below.

The Outer Ones sees Revocation pushing both the death metal and progressive elements of their signature sound harder than ever. “I knew that I wanted to go in a darker direction, and this is our most death metal album to date,” states vocalist/guitarist Dave Davidson. “Sometimes when death metal bands go down the prog route they lose some of that edge, but we wanted to keep the aggression at the forefront of what we do while still pushing our boundaries.” Moving away from the societal and historical themes that informed 2016’s Great is Our Sin, this time Davidson has immersed himself in the fantastic, evoking one of the great writers of the sci-fi/horror genre. “The title is my ode to H.P. Lovecraft and the entities of pure cosmic horror that rule that universe he created. Since the new music we were writing was so evil and spacey in sections it seemed to be the right title to fit the overall vibe. But while the lyrical content is largely influenced by such writings, in every allegory there is of course some reflection of the real world, so I enjoy writing in a way that could have one overlaying meaning and then another deeper, symbolic meaning as well.”

REVOCATION will be touring in support of their critically-lauded sixth full-length, Great Is Our Sin, released last year via Metal Blade Records. Reuniting with producer Zeuss (Hatebreed, Bleeding Through), who helmed 2014’s Deathlessand 2012’s Teratogenesis EP, Great Is Our Sin packs the requisite punch, yet retains the organic feel with which it was conceived. Known for their technical prowess, the band remained dedicated to upping the ante without ever losing sight of the importance of good songwriting. Whilst the lineup has changed over the decade-plus REVOCATION has been in existence, guitarist/vocalist Dave Davidson’s passion has never waned, and they are arguably sounding better than ever as they look toward the future. The offering reaped the #1 spot on Billboard’s Top New Artists/Heatseekers chart, #6 on the Current Hard Music Albums chart, #11 on the Top Independent Albums chart, and #17 Current Rock Albums upon its first week of release!

REVOCATION Debut Lyric Video For “Crumbling Imperium”

Having delivered five killer albums boasting some of the most potent, technical and abrasive metal unleashed over the last decade, it would be easy for REVOCATION to sit back and rest upon their laurels. However, with their constant drive to push their sound ever forward and refusal to compromise their integrity, this could never be the case – and Great Is Our Sin is their most dynamic, boundary-pushing and weighty release to date.
Today REVOCATION has unleashed third blistering track from Great is Our Sin.

Great is Our Sinis slated for a July 22nd release date via Metal Blade Records.  The first song track streaming from the album entitled “Communion” is streaming now at http://www.metalblade.com/revocation Pre-order your copy of Great is Our Sin in exclusive bundle packages there as well!
When it came time for the follow up to 2014’s Deathless the quartet had their work cut out for them, and their response to the challenge is a record that grabs you by the throat and refuses to let go. Never forcing anything, the songs that would comprise Great Is Our Sin came together organically, and while the members being spread all around North America would have been an impediment to some, REVOCATION drew strength from it.
Reuniting with producer Zeuss (Hatebreed, Bleeding Through), who also helmed Deathless and 2012’s Teratogenesis EP, the record packs the requisite punch, yet retains the organic feel with which it was conceived.  Known for their technical prowess, the band remained dedicated to upping the ante without ever losing sight of the importance of good songwriting.
Regardless of the state of the world, nothing is going to slow REVOCATION down any time soon. Whilst the lineup has changed over the ten years the band has been in existence, Davidson’s passion has never waned, and they are arguably sounding better than ever as they look toward the future. “We can’t wait to bring these songs out on the road and perform them for different audiences all over the world. Great Is Our Sin is a new chapter for the band, and collectively we feel that it is our defining record to date.”
In support of Great Is Our Sin, REVOCATION will be hitting the road this summer as part of the Summer Slaughter tour alongside Cannibal Corpse, Nile, After the Burial, Suffocation, Carnifex, Krisiun, Slaughter to Prevail and Ingested.  The tour kicks July 23rd in Orlando, FL and runs through August 21st in Atlanta, GA.  A complete list of dates can be found below.
