Skinlab Rejoined By Former Guitarist Steve “Snake” Green

Legendary Bay Area metallers, SKINLAB, today announce the return of longtime guitarist Steve Green, best-known to fans as Snake! The news comes ahead of the band’s first live activities of 2018, the Brothers in Blood Tour featuring PISSING RAZORS and SHATTERED SUN (updated itinerary below).

“We are very excited to announce that our brother Snake has returned home and has rejoined Skinlab for the Brothers in Blood Tour,” said frontman Steev Esquivel. “Our boy has slithered right back into our lives, and we embrace him with open arms. Snake has always been a huge part of Skinlab, making his debut on the EYESORE EP back in 1998. That fan-favorite has become a collector’s item, and Snake’s blood and spirit has been a constant fixture through every release we’ve done since. We couldn’t be happier to have him back for this tour.”

“It all comes down to LOVE… LOVE for these two dudes, Steev & Paul, with whom I have shared so much time with,” explained Snake. “LOVE for the powerful music we have made, LOVE for the fans of Skinlab, and ultimately, the LOVE for LIFE around every corner we turn. We’re older, wiser, and share a mutual passion for what we’ve created together. As for the future, we’ll enter the studio and take things day by day, waiting to see what fate the metal Gods will bring forth. Enjoy the moment!”

“The last week has been an amazing experience that started off with handshakes, hugs and tears,” added Esquivel. “The mood quickly turned into a massive wall of heaviness, however, when we began rehearsing a setlist of a dozen-plus songs, each met with smiles and nods of approval. To us it’s obvious that this machine is back in-action and ready for war! We are very excited to jump back on the road!”

In addition to rejoining SKINLAB, Snake remains a member of The Devil in California, with whom he’s been performing since 2015. The band has been added to the bill for SKINLAB’s homecoming show on February 10 in Crockett, California.

Formed in 1994, SKINLAB has released four studio albums: 1997’s “Bound, Gagged and Blindfolded,” 1999’s “Disembody: The New Flesh,” 2002’s “ReVolting Room” and 2009’s “The Scars Between Us.”

In 2017, the re-energized band celebrated the 20th Anniversary of their debut album with a string of west coast dates, followed by a summer tour with Product of Hate and IKILLYA. Additional dates with the likes of Kyng and Islander followed, after which SKINLAB entered the studio with producers Steve Holt (36 CRAZYFISTS) and Juan Urteaga. In October, the band released their first single in nearly eight years, “End of Silence” (lyric video HERE).

SKINLAB entered 2018 with the release of another digital single, “Dead Tomorrow,” ahead of their “Brothers in Blood” Tour. Work continues on the band’s fifth studio album, slated for release sometime later this year.

Dopesick Featuring Former Skinlab and Ministry Members – Release Music Video for “Ride The Night” featuring Jahred Gomez of HED P.E.

Oakland, CA punk/hard rock outfit DOPESICK is a fresh name for many, but the band’s members charge forward with quite the resume behind them. DOPESICK frontman/guitarist Adam Albright originally formed the band nearly two decades ago with the intention of touring while still performing with Bay Area post-thrash band Skinlab, but this dream was abruptly cut short by a prison sentence.

After being released from prison and joining a brief Skinlab reunion, Albright decided to launch the first incarnation of DOPESICK (a term he learned from a cellmate in prison). The band cut their teeth for several years by gigging relentlessly in the Bay Area and releasing an EP in 2002, Vendetta, produced by Skinlab’s Scott Sargeant. After some personal conflicts with other members and more time off for Albright while touring with Sebastian Bach’s solo project (and penning the title track for his 2007 album Angel Down), DOPESICK seemed to be on hold indefinitely. Fast forward to 2016: Albright recently enlisted drummer Aaron Rossi (Ministry, Prong) and bassist Mandi Martyr (Ministry) to play on the upcoming DOPESICK release – and this time it’s sticking.

To give listeners a taste of what to expect from DOPESICK, the band has revealed the brand new music video for “Ride The Night”, the first single from their upcoming album The Love and Terror Cult set for release this winter. Featuring Jahred Gomez of (HED) P.E., the track is a cool summer party banger – mixing reggae vibes and metal hooks

“I had this song in mind for a minute… the whole time I was thinking Jarhed would klll it,”states Adam Albright on working with Gomez. “I sent him the basic stuff, he sliced n’ diced and it, and it came back sick! The video was easy – Jahred flew into LA very early. We started smoking and shooting in Venice Beach and wound up at The Rainbow in Hollywood! The filming was super cool, a lot of fun… and I did NOT go to jail!”
The “Ride The Night” video was directed and edited by Matt Zane (Wayne Static, John 5,Orgy). The track on the video was mixed by Eddie Wohl (AnthraxFuel, Ill Nino) and mastered by Augustus Cryns (Stitched Up Heart, The Dead Rabbitts, The Academy Is).
DOPESICK is currently finishing recording with Patrick Burkholder at Pawnshop Studio in Van Nuys, CA. Pre-orders for The Love and Terror Cult will be available soon! Stay tuned for more new music coming from DOPESICK this summer and fall.
