Following the success of the release of the picture disc of their current album High Country for the fall Record Store Day celebration, The Sword come back for this Saturday’s Record Store Day with a 7” vinyl single of the legendary blues classic, “John The Revelator”. The song was originally recorded in 1930 by Blind Willie Johnson and received bigger acclaim when recorded in an acapella version in 1965 by blues man Son House. The song later found usage in the hit TV series Sons of Anarchy. The Sword’s version was recorded in Austin, TX as part of the recording sessions for High Country.
The Sword is currently finishing leg 3 of their North America High Country tour. Leg 4 begins in Knoxville, TN on May 6th. Dates for Leg 4 are below:
