Mean Gene of Capital Chaos TV sat down with the thrashing warriors of Exmortus mid-tour to chat about life on the road, their dream lineups, and how it feels to share the stage with legends like Abbath and Children of Bodom. From bad haircuts to desert island albums, here’s how it all went down.

Capital Chaos TV: So, who officially was the first one to get the email about this lineup and going out on tour with Oni, Abbath, and Children of Bodom?
Exmortus: That was our drummer, Mario. He’s not here with us right now—he’s a little shy about a bad haircut.
David: I think it looks cool, though!
Exmortus: He’ll get over it. It’ll grow back.
CCTV: You guys are about halfway through the tour now. How’s it going?
Exmortus: It’s been great—about two and a half weeks in. No real problems. We expected a lot of snow, but just got light patches here and there. No full-on storms yet.
CCTV: You end in New York, right?
Exmortus: Yep, then we drive back. After tonight, we get a short break before heading east again.
CCTV: What’s it like playing with Abbath and Children of Bodom every night?
Exmortus: Honestly, it’s a dream come true. We’re still stoked about it. Abbath is super cool—he just hangs out, chats, and shares music. He even made us listen to his Motörhead cover. It was awesome!
CCTV: Any new guy jitters?
New Guy: Not really. I’ve known these guys since high school, so we were already friends. That made joining way easier. We’ve played a few shows together before, so I was ready to jump in when they needed someone.
CCTV: Will you make it home for Christmas?
Exmortus: Yep! We’ll be back by the 24th. We usually miss the holidays, so it’ll be nice to actually be home this time.
CCTV: Any writing happening while you tour?
Exmortus: It’s hard to write while touring since we’re all drivers, but when we get home, we’ll definitely be working on the next album. Tons of ideas are floating around—we’ll see what sticks.
CCTV: Any tour announcements coming soon?
Exmortus: Plans are in motion, but nothing we can reveal just yet. Soon, though!
Exmortus: Huge thanks to ESP for my custom Flying V from Japan. I use Marshall amps and Jackson guitars. Shoutout to our techs for keeping everything running smooth.
Bassist: I play Fender bass—Fender, endorse me!
CCTV: You’re stuck on a desert island. Three albums—go!
