MaYaN – Release “Saints Don’t Die” Music Video; Dhyana Out Now!

The day has come – symphonic death metal collective MaYaN has released its epic third album Dhyana. Together with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, the band recorded their spectacular full-length release, which reflects on conceptual themes such as self-awareness, relinquishing our ego and self-conceited tendencies to find out who we truly are.

In celebration of the new album, MaYaN have released an official music video for “Saints Don’t Die”. Watch the new clip below.

Singer Mark Jansen explains the background of the track: “‘Saints Don’t Die’ deals with wars being fought on the backs of young men and women, who are sent to battle and then suffer the consequences their entire life time, while the ‘Saints’ stay in their ivory towers, just pulling the strings.”

Jadran “Conan” Gonzalez of Exmortus “Expect your mind to be blown. To melt from all the shredding.”

Los Angeles based neo-classical shredders Exmortus, founded by guitarist and vocalist Jadran “Conan” Gonzalez, have racked up achievement after achievement. From appearing in a national TV commercial for Virgin Mobile to being played constantly on Sirius XM’s Liquid Metal, from appearing on the first Ozzfest meets Knotfest in San Bernadino to touring with heroes Children of Bodom and Marty Friedman. However it’s probably the band’s 5th album, The Sound of Steel, that Conan will be most proud of. It’s his most personal album, an album forged together after a bit of a setback but also one that given his upbringing could never have not seen the light of day.

Exmortus premiere “Feast Of Flesh” Music Video

The thirst and hunger for blood is never quenched! Prepare for “Feast Of Flesh!” The savage new shredder from EXMORTUS! Watch the official music video streaming below.

Exmortus

On the concept behind the track, EXMORTUS founder, vocalist and guitarist, Conan tells LA Weekly: As some may have noticed on my personal page, I don’t just post guitar or band stuff, but a lot of food pictures and I’m no vegan. ‘Feast of Flesh’ is a celebration of our carnal needs and desires. I’m not trying to make any political/environmental statements but I feel this song expresses the ugly and brutal nature of humans and other animals. It ain’t pretty so we thought it would be fun to shoot the band chowing down on actual raw flesh fresh from the meat market. My girlfriend was willing to play the hapless victim of the carnage, which made the whole experience quite fun and yet funny since we were all trying to act and not laugh at the whole idea. The song itself is more of a caveman stompy headbanger so the music works beautifully with the lyrics and visuals in bloody harmony. So, sit back and enjoy the Feast of Flesh! Cheers!

Exmortus premiere new single, “Make Haste”

Today EXMORTUS present the first single off their upcoming album, The Sound Of Steel, set for release on June 8, 2018. Watch the lyric video for album track, “Make Haste” now streaming below.

“Inspired by the constant pressure of making deadlines and getting shit done, this song was the first one written for the record and will set the mood and attitude just right as the opening track. Rise to the occasion and strike while the iron’s hot! Make Haste!” states EXMORTUS founder, vocalist and guitarist, Jadren “Conan” Gonzalez.

Produced by Zack Ohren (Machine Head, Fallujah, Suffocation) at Sharkbite Studio; The Sound Of Steel delivers a visceral call to arms in a maelstrom of thrashing, neo-classical, blackened death as EXMORTUS tear fresh wounds into their ever-pioneering discography. EXMORTUS set June 8th for THE SOUND OF STEEL Release date

Exmortus, have set a June 8th street date for their new full length album, The Sound of Steel. The album will be released by Prosthetic Records worldwide except Japan, where it will be overseen by Marquee Inc. The Sound of Steel, was produced once again by Zack Ohren (Machine Head, Fallujah, Suffocation) at Sharkbite Studio while the band also enlisted artist, Philip Lawvere (Kreator, Celtic Frost, Helloween), to create the cover art.

Exmortus founder, vocalist and guitarist, Jadren “Conan” Gonzalez comments, “This new record takes the best from both Slave…and Ride… albums and adds a killer twist especially accentuated by Chase Becker and Carlos Cruz of Warbringer. While still paying homage to our classic favorites like Priest, Yngwie, Slayer, etc. We also deliver tastefully the extremities of black/death metal and of course the neo-classical structure/harmony that we are known for. This is what we believe to be the Sound of Steel!”

The Southern California quartet EXMORTUS — whose invigorating twin-guitar mix of neoclassical shred, Bay Area thrash, progressive death and traditional heavy metal has earned the group a devoted following.
Co-founded a decade ago by then-teenage cousins Conan (vocals/guitar) and Mario Moreno (drums), EXMORTUS self-released several demos and EPs before signing with Heavy Artillery Records in 2007. The group’s 2008 debut “In Hatred’s Flame” and 2011 follow-up “Beyond The Fall Of Time” earned praise for their “frighteningly aggressive thrash blended with both death metal and NWOBHM bluster” (Blabbermouth), and their exuberant, shred-heavy live performances can convert even the most jaded heshers into enthusiastic headbangers. Catch Exmortus on their remaining dates with Darkest Hour & Warbringer.

Exmortus Interviewed In San Francisco, California And Tour Announcement

Mean Gene of Capital Chaos TV gets the inside scoop of touring with Abbath & Amon Amarth, hair mishaps, desert island discs and more with Exmortus vocalist Jadran “Conan” Gonzalez, drummer Mario Moreno and new bassist Cody at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, California while on tour with Children Of Bodom, Abbath & ONI 12/05/126

Having just wrapped up a month long jaunt with Finnish metal masters Children of Bodom, black metal legend Abbath and prog outfit Oni, Los Angeles’ neoclassical shred quartet Exmortus showcased their “modern day thrash-meets-old school Michael Angelo Batio & Yngwie Malmsteen” sound that “made the crowds go wild” (Metal Wani). Drummer Mario Moreno remarked,  We had an amazing time on the I WORSHIP CHAOS tour, but like the saying goes all good things must come to an end. We just played our last show in  New York City and we’re making our way back home with a stop in El Paso, TX. 2016 was a great year for the band and we’re anxious for what 2017 already holds for us. “

With 2016 nearly at an end, Exmortus once again continue to prove themselves as one of the hardest working bands in heavy metal having spent over 3/4 of the year on tours alongside acts such as Amon Amarth, Marty Friedman, Enforcer, Warbringer, Entombed A.D., Holy Grail, Spellcaster and Cauldron as well as performing at the opening ceremony for Ozzfest meets Knotfest. They will continue their non-stop assault on audiences in support of their critically acclaimed release “Ride Forth” as they have just announced two sets of tour dates for early 2017. The band will join thrasher’s Havok and Extinction AD for a brief jaunt across the U.S. and Canada from February 8 – 18 before rejoining Havok for their first-ever European tour April 2 – 30 alongside thrashers Warbringer and tech death outfit Gorod.

Moreno commented, “We’re excited to start our next tour alongside Havok and Extinction AD. The tour will be in February with 11 dates across the U.S. followed by a European tour with Havok, Warbringer and Gorod. This will also be our first time going overseas and we’re stoked to be doing it with some killer bands. See you metal maniacs on the road! \m/”
