Backstage at Ace of Spades in Sacramento, chaos was already in full swing before GWAR even hit the stage. Standing in front of us was none other than Pustulus Maximus — foul-mouthed, hilarious, completely unfiltered, and exactly what you’d expect from the legendary shock-metal monsters. Between trashing Sacramento, talking bone marrow donations, and campaigning for Alice Cooper to take GWAR on tour, Pustulus delivered one of the most absurd interviews imaginable.
GWAR interviews are less about journalism and more about surviving the experience. Pustulus Maximus delivered exactly what fans expect: offensive jokes, total chaos, bizarre honesty, and enough one-liners to make your editor nervous. Some bands do polished media training. GWAR prefers intergalactic filth, fake blood, and threats of planetary destruction. And somehow, that’s why they’ve lasted this long.
