Testament delivered a crushing, no-frills thrash assault at Agora Theatre on March 25th in Cleveland, leaning into a setlist that balanced fan-favorite classics with darker, groove-heavy material.
They wasted no time igniting the crowd with “Disciples of the Watch” and “Into the Pit,” instantly turning the floor into chaos. Tracks like “The Evil Has Landed” and “Sins of Omission” showcased the band’s precision and sheer heaviness, while cuts like “Henchmen Ride” and “John Doe” added depth for longtime fans. Chuck Billy sounded powerful throughout, effortlessly shifting between melody and aggression on songs like “The Ballad” and “Native Blood.”
A standout moment came during “The Haunting,” when Eric Peterson accidentally drifted into “Burnt Offerings” midway through the song. Rather than disrupting the set, the slip gave the performance a raw, unscripted edge that the crowd seemed to appreciate.
By the time they closed with “Over the Wall,” the band had fully locked in, delivering a tight, high-energy finish that reminded everyone why Testament remains a cornerstone of thrash metal.
