Sumerian Records Presents: 10 Years In The Black Tour Featuring Asking Alexandria, Born of Osiris and more

77

Sumerian Records continues to celebrate its 10 year anniversary, announcing the “10 Years In The Black Tour” featuring label artists Asking Alexandria and Born Of Osiris.

I See Stars, After The Burial, Upon a Burning Body and Bad Omens round out the North American tour, which launches on Oct. 25 at Seattle’s Showbox Sodo and wraps up in early December.

“I can’t remember the last time I was this excited for a tour,” Asking Alexandria guitarist Ben Bruce said. “Not only is this our first true North American headlining tour in two years, as well as our first real U.S. headliner with Denis [Stoff] as our vocalist, but this is also a tour celebrating the incredible 10 year journey of Sumerian Records. We couldn’t be more proud to headline such a pivotal tour package and to celebrate the music Sumerian has released. The tour will include our biggest production to date and the first trek out in support of our new album, The Black. This is going to be something incredibly special.”

“To see the celebration of a decade of Sumerian culminate with this tour is a true reflection of the communal spirit and vision that this label was built upon,” said Sumerian Records Founder Ash Avildsen. “Fans will get to see five headliners all go out together, which is very rare these days because of tour politics, egos, money and everything else that gets in the way of giving music lovers an unforgettable line-up. The fact that these five bands are sharing the stage together and still bringing an opening act to kick off the show makes this a truly special tour. I comment them all. Stay tuned for for lots of upcoming announcements about different activities for bands and fans to interact at at these shows that go beyond just watching them perform on stage. Mark my words: This will be the most progressive and interactive tour we have ever done. See you on the road.”

Burn Halo have  \hit the road again for Wolves of War Tour. This time  with a new lead singer.  They announced their new lead singer, T.J. Chopelas on their Facebook Page:

After many tough conversations and careful consideration, we have decided to move forward without our frontman James Hart. As a band, we want to continue to tour and make albums on a full time basis. Where James is at in his life and career, he was no longer able to make the same commitment the rest of us were willing to make. We completely understand and respect his decision to step away and have his full support to continue on with Burn Halo. Our long time friend T.J. Chopelas will be taking over as the new lead singer for Burn Halo. We are excited for the future and looking forward to seeing all of our fans on the road this summer. We love you all and appreciate your continued support.

Watch John Carpenter Perform Live In Oakland, California

Influential science fiction and horror filmmaker John Carpenter is currently on his first national tour as a musician. Carpenter is performing selections from his two albums, 2015’s Lost Themes and this year’s Lost Themes II as well as several of the iconic soundtrack themes from across his career.

For his 1978 film Halloween Carpenter created his own soundtrack compositions and was influenced by Goblin’s darkly brooding music for Dario Argento’s Suspiria and Mike Oldfield’s hauntingly delicate themes for William Friedkin’s The Exorcist. Except that Carpenter equaled the power of both of those artists in his own work, he scored the soundtracks to virtually all of his films, and established a high standard for music for film that forever changed the way future directors contracted and otherwise created music in horror and science fiction cinema.

Lost Themes I and II represented Carpenter’s first official foray as a musical artist without the music being tied to a specific film. Notably, both albums were issued by Sacred Bones, an imprint started by former Denverite Caleb Braaten who used to be employed at Twist & Shout Records before moving to New York City.

Members Of Dragonlord, Discordia & Death Angel Perform In Sacramento As From Hell

Watch FROM HELL featuring members of Discordia DragonLord Death Angel & Duran Duran Duran perform their smash hit “Ascent from Hell” @ The Boardwalk

FROM HELL is a heavy metal horror concept band in which each recording is intended to be its own horror story. The first one called “Ascent From Hell”, is about a corpse that wakes up in Hell and finds out he must go back to earth to find his soul that still lives on inside the body of a priest and drag it back to Hell.

For this first recording, metal icons Paul Bostaph from Slayer on drums, Steve Smyth from Nevermore on lead guitar and Damien Sisson from Death Angel on bass were recruited to make this record happen. This recording is diabolically epic, and heavy as Hell! Every song is different from the next covering many genres of metal from thrash metal and black metal to death metal and doom metal. This album is as dynamic as metal can be! Also participating in this recording is Phil Bennett of the iconic rock band Starship, playing piano on the track Dead Reckoning and a 22-piece choir, The Pacific Mozart Ensemble on four other tracks. Establishing new ground, this record has the first recorded blast beat by Paul Bostaph, orchestrated with shredding guitar solos from Steve Smyth and heavy melodic & syncopated bass by Damien Sisson.

Produced by George Anderson and Steve “Snake” Green, guitar player from Skinlab, a Century Media recording artist, this recording is a theatrical 70 minutes long with segues in between each song to give additional detail to this horror story. Once the music starts, it never stops until the end.

Night Demon Cover Golden Earrings “Radar Love”

California’s Heavy Metal machine, NIGHT DEMON are stoked to present a live video for their deliciously nostalgic take on the Golden Earring classic, “Radar Love”!

A first rate sneak peek into the DEMON live, this rare cover exudes classic metal mastery, whilst simultaneously paying homage to influencers and ushering in a new wave of heavy; creating an intimate fan experience fresh from the stage.

“Radar Love is a cover rarely played by the band. It first appeared as a live version on the expanded edition of our first EP from the first ever Night Demon show. The only other time it was performed was at the drummer of Golden Earring’s club in The Hague, Netherlands on our last European tour. We had a recent request in Cleveland from one of our most diehard fans “Jim Nostra-Demon Bartek” to bust it out live for him. The video proof is here, and the song has since found a regular spot in the Night Demon set for the remaining dates of the Final Curse tour.” states NIGHT DEMON’s Jarvis Leatherby.
Following “The Final Curse” tour, NIGHT DEMON’s summer of shred continues with the “One Foot In The Grave” tour featuring CARCASS with special guests CROWBAR and GHOUL. Upcoming tour dates below with more to be announced!

San Francisco’s Burn River Burn Blaze At The Powerhouse In Folsom

Burn River Burn

Some crazy robot at Pandora says:
“Features Hard Rock roots, a subtle use of vocal harmony, mild rhythmic syncopation, varying tempo and time signatures, and minor key tonality.”

Fans say:
“Bluesy alt-rock with soulful vocals and gritty guitar work. There’s touches of Seattle grunge on these grooves but mixed up with more than a spoonful of delta blues magic.” – FDJ, Canvey Island, UK

“Love the singer’s voice – Contemporary Ozzyish (especially when doubled in the choruses). Guitar riffs are super hooky, and the rhythm section is tight as F*#K! Really dope stuff – just bad ass rock n roll/hard rock.” – Rick K., West Lake Village, CA

“BAD ASS…A solid original band that is a must see again!”- Timothy B, unsuspecting fan

Media says:
“This band has great song writing ability and a southern swagger that defines them as a whole…This is a high energy rock band that loves to play great riffs.” – Evor Entertainment

“It’s sound like a unique cross between Van Halen and Pantera” – Justin Kretizer, ReviewYou

Classic Live Bootleg – Mr Bungle Live In Sacramento January 5th, 1991

mr bungle

Mr. Bungle was an American experimental band from Eureka, California. The band was formed in 1985 while the members were still in high school, and was named after a 1950s children’s educational film regarding bad habits which was later featured in a 1981 Pee-wee Herman HBO special. Mr. Bungle released four demo tapes in the mid to late 1980s before being signed to Warner Bros. Records and releasing three full-length studio albums between 1991 and 1999. The band toured in 2000 to support their last album before going on hiatus; ultimately revealing that they had dissolved in 2004. Although Mr. Bungle went through several line-up changes early in their career, the longest-serving members were vocalist Mike Patton, guitarist Trey Spruance, bassist Trevor Dunn, saxophonists Clinton “Bär” McKinnon and Theo Lengyel, and drummer Danny Heifetz.

It topped several “best of 2014” lists in not only the metal world, but in the progressive music community as well and won over scores of new fans with their fresh, emotive, and technically challenging music. As a result, FALLUJAH has paved the way for a new melodic and atmospheric perspective on death metal!

FALLUJAH’s commitment to crafting forward thinking music, has helped them build their own die-hard fan-base from the ground-up through several releases; 2009’s Leper Colony EP, 2011’s The Harvest Wombs LP, Nomadic EP in 2013, and most recently their critically acclaimed album The Flesh Prevails.

The Flesh Prevails was mixed, mastered and engineered by Zach Ohren  at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, CA over the course of a few months. It features guest appearances from Christian Muenzner (SPAWN OF POSSESSION, ex-OBSCURA, ex-NECROPHAGIST) and the voice of Roniit Alkayam. The cover artwork was a collaborative effort between Poland’s Tomasz Alen Kopera and the band’s vocalist, Alex Hofmann.

Pittsburgh Death/Thrash Outfit Hemotoxin to Release ‘Biological Enslavement’ in April on Unspeakable Axe Records‏

hemotoxin

Progressive Death/Thrash Outfit HEMOTOXIN will release sophomore full-length Biological Enslavement April 15 on Unspeakable Axe Records.

Categorizing what kind of music HEMOTOXIN makes is harder than it would seem.  Their brand of melodic death/thrash springs from a whole host of metal influences: progressive death metal (e.g. DEATH, ATHEIST), classic thrash (MEGADETH, SLAYER and others), and even some black metal and prog rock.  Any given song could groove, then thrash, then send you through a dizzying labyrinth of elaborate riffs and ideas.  Somehow they juggle all these influences and produce from it a cohesive whole, while keeping the aggression high and the song’s core melodic components front and center.

Whatever they are doing, HEMOTOXIN do it very well, and they’ve only gotten tighter and more adventurous as a unit since their 2013 debut.  Now their follow-up full-length is ready to be unleashed.  At 9 tracks and just 35 succinct minutes, Biological Enslavement will take you on a journey more interesting than most albums twice its length.
Biological Enslavement will be made available for pre-order in mid-March through the Unspeakable Axe Store and label Bandcamp page.
Track Listing:
1. Decadence
2. Regression
3. Minus Human
4. Not of this World
5. Forgotten Faces
6. The Alchemist
7. Bleak Prognosis
8. A Journey Through Dreams
9. Transparent Eyes

Olof and Elize of Sweden’s Amaranthe translate popular English phrases into Swedish and enlighten us on their heavy workload.

amaranthe thumbnail

Iron Serbian of Capital Chaos TV chats with guitarist Olof Mörck and singer Elize Ryd of Spinefarm Records recording artists Amaranthe @ Ace Of Spades – Sacramento, California

“My first idol before Michael Jackson was Roxette, I grew up with that kind of music and of course Abba, that’s kind of the mothers milk of music if you are growing up in Sweden”. Amaranthe guitarist Olof Mörck

Amaranthe (originally Avalanche) is a Swedish metal band notable for having three lead vocalists: Elize Ryd, Jake E. Lundberg, and Henrik Englund Wilhemsson, each presenting a different vocal style. Ryd and Lundberg use clean vocals for a dual gender singing effect, combined with Englund’s death growls.

Reviews of Amaranthe’s style are varied, though they all acknowledge that they are mainly a subgenre of metal. According to AllMusic, Amaranthe’s musical style mixes death metal with melodic pop music, giving for a feel of metalcore overall.[Lead singer Elize Ryd acknowledges the difficulties in trying to ascribe their music to one specific genre and describes Amaranthe’s sound as “dance-metal with a taste of death and modern/melodic metal,” though she admits that, unlike death metal, their focus is on “positive energy” and “open[ing] up minds and giving passion, strength and love”. MusicMight classifies the band as melodic death metal and power metal. Sputnikmusic’s overview of the band refers to them as an outfit that is a hybrid of metalcore and power metal, more specifically, combining heavy riffs and breakdowns with Ryd’s “soaring vocals.”

Guitar player and singer Lips says about the song: “Even in modern times mankind has not found peace. We cling to ancient beliefs and wage wars against each other in the names of God. We still have no proof or solid scientific evidence that our beliefs are in fact truth or fact. Killing each other over theories of origin…We are still in our infancy as far as civilization is concerned. We are slowly discovering our true factual origins and eventually we will discover the truths. A truth that can’t be denied is that people have lost the plot of what religion was supposed to be about….instead of spreading love and understanding we spread hate and ignorance…murdering each other because we believe one God and belief is better than another…when it all is likely bullshit!!!! Die for a lie.”

Drummer Robb Reiner adds: ““Die For A Lie”… musically is a perfect Anvil template out of the classic blueprints, fully charged with riffs only found with Anvil, and drum arrangements very unique to Anvil style and sound!

Fear Factory had just completed touring North America as the support act for Megadeth . Also appearing on the bill was Nonpoint.

The trek kicked off on November 23 in St. Paul, Minnesota and concluded on December 19 in Reno, Nevada.

Asked whose idea it was to perform Fear Factorys classic classic 1995 sophomore album, “Demanufacture”, on the band’s Australian tour, Burton C. Bell told The Rockpit: “It was kinda like a joke at first. Last time we were there for ‘The Industrialist’ on tour, we were playing a lot of tracks from ‘Demanufacture’, and we just thought, ‘Why don’t we just play the whole damn record?’ and the promoter was, like, ‘Oh, that’s actually a great idea. We should plan it properly,’ and blah blah blah, and just started talking about it. And we thought about it, and it was Australia that embraced Fear Factory wholeheartedly first and so Australia was where we received our first silver and gold records for ‘Demanufacture’, so we figured that we’d go to Australia.”

Heat Of Damage perform their smash hits @ Ace Of Spades – Sacramento , California

Heat of Damage consists of four young men who write, produce, and perform an edgy and eclectic mix of rock, metal, and alternative music. Their self-produced EP Orenda was created and produced in the drummer’s garage and debuted in 2013.

Since then, the band has performed at numerous venues in the Sacramento area. The group released their second EP, Lifestyle, in September 2014. The title track was featured on 98 Rock’s Local Licks program for three weeks running. Lifestyle’s “Apocalypse” was released soon after and earned a spot on 98 Rock’s Local Licks Most Liked Song of 2014 Countdown Show. The song came in at #2 for the year!

The group is well-known for their musicality and showmanship. Shows are high-energy, engaging, and solid. Because all four members are vocalists, their musical range is impressive: everything from heart-thumping rock to hints of screamo punk to melodic ballads. Heat of Damage never disappoints!

The Zenith Passage & Fallujah Fillet The Bay

The Zenith Passage perform their smash hits @ Bay Area Death Fest 2 – Oakland, California

It was in early 2012 that a small recording collaboration between two friends (Justin McKinney and Greg Hampton) began to coalesce into something that would prove to be well more than the sum of its parts. The Zenith Passage may have come about from humble beginnings in a stuffy Los Angeles apartment, but the produce thereof is anything BUT humble. Even the earliest demo tracks delivered a relentless torrent of technical guitar work accompanied by a distinctly frenetic and brutal vocal delivery that has since become an unmistakable hallmark in a scene that is all too often the victim of stagnation.

With the onset of all these new developments, and the lineup nearing completion, it seemed only natural to take the next step and join the ranks of those by whom they had been so heavily influenced. Thus, in the summer of 2013, TZP had the honor of signing on with Unique Leader Records for a multi-album deal. The stage is currently set for TZP to secure their foothold in topmost reaches of the metal pantheon, and they are hard at work churning out new content for their debut full-length. Rest assured, this marks only the beginning. The world has only just set foot onto the passage towards the pinnacle, the apex, the Xenith. BLEGH.

Fallujah perform their smash hits @ Bay Area Death Fest 2 – Oakland, California

Fallujah was founded in early 2007 by high school friends Alex Hofmann, Scott Carstairs, Tommy Logan, Dan Wissinger, and Suliman Arghandiwal. Their first show was on June 15, 2007 in Walnut Creek, California. Their first four songs released were “Tyrant”, “Verdict”, “Schleicher” and “Infidel” as demos. The bands sound and inception was heavily influenced by the Bay Area hardcore scene; often playing with bands such as Lionheart, Hoods, Suffokate, and Lose None.

Later that year, bassist Dan Wissinger and Drummer Tommy Logan departed. Brandon “Brando” Hoberg from the band Vivisection joined on bass and friend Andrew Baird joined on drums. In winter of 2007, Fallujah recorded their 2nd demo at TWS studios in Vacaville, California. The songs “Prophets”, “Blacklist”, and “100 Years From Now” were on this demo. They were released in January 2008.

Serpent Crown perform their smash hits @ The Golden Bull – Oakland , California

The Bay Area has long been a nexus for heavy metal, hard core punk, and devastating doom….Combining the best of the Bay Area traditions of thrash, heavy rock, and hardcore to create their own sound, enter Serpent Crown. Without being completely sub-genre specific, Serpent Crown plays metal that is largely in your face, with thick riffs, searing solos, and pummeling rhythms..straightforward and crafted for head banging. The band released it’s first demo in 2009, but progress and overall band activity was pretty sparse due to lineup changes and issues. Since it’s first official release was a self-titled EP in 2013 through the Philadelphia based record label Horror Pain Gore Death Productions, the band has gained momentum, touring along the West Coast and performing around the Bay Area.

“Serpent Crown unleashes metal songs that are catchier and more intense than the sum of the band’s local contemporaries..”

Black perform their smash hits @ Starlite Lounge – Sacramento, California

High school acquaintances, Rich Garcia and Greg Jimenez Jr., had a chance encounter in 2006 where they bonded over a love for heavy metal and playing music. This led to daily jam sessions and eventually a good base of original material, so they decided to start a band. Over the next few years, Garcia and Jimenez auditioned many different musicians to complete their band but they were all short lived. Then in late 2008, they met Brent Robinson, who joined the unnamed band as lead guitar, and the three immediately clicked. They decided to call themselves, BLACK, and began to launch their band into the local metal scene. After a few shows with original singer, David Jones, Dane Price joined the group as bassist. With the lineup of five solid musicians complete, they began to gig and perform immediately! Playing anywhere and everywhere that would allow them to wreak some havoc and destroy eardrums. Frequently seen performing at The Boardwalk, a well-known Sacramento concert venue, they were able to play with many fine local bands and major label artists such as: Lazarus A.D., Archaic, Bonded by Blood and Death Angel to name a few. In early 2012, the band’s momentum was going strong when, David Jones and Dane Price, moved on from the band for personal reasons. Despite the loss of Jones and Price, Marc Terribilini (Robinson’s college roommate from 2003 and extremely skilled guitar player) contacted the band with news that a young producer/studio manager in Oakland named Paul Glueckert had been admiring their music was interested in working with them. It was not long before the founding members of BLACK sat down with both Glueckert and Terribilini and began talks of collaborating on a full-length album. Glueckert helped BLACK establish FM RECORDER Studios as their home base to record the album. Shortly thereafter, Terribilini approached by the band and offered a position as lead guitarist on the album. Robinson would become the bassist and backup vocalist, helping the band to keep a stronger foundation. Now with Terribilini on board, the band pursued a new vocalist. They continued to play shows and perform during the recording process with various stand in vocalists and sometimes without vocals, offering a rare experience when it comes to heavy metal! Eventually Glueckert’s classically trained vocal chords were the final piece to the puzzle for BLACK. With Glueckert singing and producing the album, BLACK had an album that was undeniable. Once done at FM RECORDERS, the band took the album to Michael Romanowski Mastering Studio in San Francisco where they began work with a very talented mastering engineer named Piper Payne. Now, April 2013, the album is in the final stages of completion and will be ready for purchase very soon! Once the album is complete, the band is going to resume a heavy gig schedule to raise money and support replication and distribution of their debut album “United States of War”.

Black Breath Beatdown In Oakland, California

bLACK bREATH

Black Breath is a band from Bellingham, Washington who moved to Seattle. They play death, black, and thrash metal influenced hardcore. A key factor of their sound is the “Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal Pedal”, which was popularized by bands such as Entombed, Dismember and Edge of Sanity in the early 90’s.

Black Breath began in 2005, playing local bars and house shows in Bellingham. They released a few demos, and toured the underground before finally recording an actual EP in 2008. In 2008 they released the Razor to Oblivion EP under their own label, Hot Mass Records. The EP gained attention in the local music underground and the band signed with Southern Lord Records, a Los Angeles based metal and hardcore punk oriented label, in October 2009. Black Breath toured across the country to support the EP as a support act for Victims, Rise and Fall, and Trap Them. Southern Lord then took over the distribution of the EP, which was re-released under the new label, and Black Breath went to the east coast to record their debut album, Heavy Breathing, at GodCity Studios, owned by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou. Heavy Breathing was released on March 30, 2010 by Southern Lord. Their second album titled Sentenced To Life was released March 27, 2012 on Southern Lord Records. In October of 2014 it was announced that Black Breath would be returning to GodCity Studios to record their follow up to Sentenced To Life for an early 2015 release

Embodied Torment And Solitary Priapism Slay Sacramento, California

Solitary Priapism perform their smash hit “Lack Of Restraint” @ On The Y — Sacramento, California

After a long night of drinking, Nate and Colt decided to start a deathgrind band. The result is Solitary Priapism. On a drunken expedition to rape/impale child molesters with a ten foot pole, they discovered David Ko in a ditch, who joined their cause. He is now their bassist. After a strange turn of events, they accidentally created “Terminal Exhibition”, their debut album, while in the midst of a raging THC and whiskey binge.

In November of 2013, Solitary Priapism absorbed a fourth member. After a scientifically rigorous selection process involving binge drinking, moshpits, and depraved sexual acts, Shawn Ward has been selected as Solitary Priapism’s new bassist while David Ko has switched to guitars.

embodied

Embodied Torment perform their smash hits @ On The Y — Sacramento, California

Embodied Torment took shape over the course of 2011, as Matt Chaco (vox) and Cindy Chaco (drums) joined forces with Casey Ryle (guitars), Joaquin Chavez (guitars), and David Ko (bass). After an initial phase of playing a fairly traditional form of death metal, represented by their early demo, the quintet gradually focused on the most brutal and extreme elements of their sound. Ryle departed in mid-2012, which saw the band continue on as a four-piece and record their ‘Kyphonism’ promo, which represented their new sonic direction.

In 2013 and 2014, the band refined their live attack and continued to push the boundaries of their sound into greater complexity and extremes of tempo and brutality. Embarking on their first tour in November of 2013, their performances gained them the attention of rising death metal label New Standard Elite, with whom they signed on in June 2014. Embodied Torment is currently at work writing their first full-length for a 2015 release.

The band has performed with such luminaries of the extreme death metal world as Exhumer, Amputated Genitals, Pessimist, Abhorration, SICK, Shawn Whitaker, Dying Fetus, Cattle Decapitation, Cerebral Bore, Krisiun, Omnihility, Carnal Decay, Arsis, Devour The Unborn, Corpsefucking Art, and Coprophiliac.

Until the late 1990s, the band played a traditional black metal style with heathen lyrical content, but soon changed to that of occult and thelemic themes written by their lead vocalist Nergal and Krzysztof Azarewicz. With the 1999 release of Satanica, the band demonstrated their presence in the death metal scene, while retaining their own signature style characterized by the drum work of Inferno, multi-layered vocals and Middle-Eastern influences. Despite Behemoth having been labeled as death metal or thrash metal-influenced, Nergal has mentioned that he does not like the band to be labeled.

Suicide Silence is an American deathcore band from Riverside, California. Formed in 2002, the band has released four full-length studio albums, one EP and eleven music videos. They have received a fair amount of praise, being awarded the Revolver Golden God award for “Best New Talent” in 2009. The group currently consists of vocalist Hernan “Eddie” Hermida, guitarists Chris Garza and Mark Heylmun, bassist Dan Kenny and drummer Alex Lopez.

Suicide Silence were founded in 2002 in Riverside, California, and were at that time, a side project of many of the members of other groups. The band performed their first show at a local area within Riverside and at that time, the line-up consisted of the members Chris Garza and Rick Ash as guitarists, Mike Bodkins as bassist, Josh Goddard as drummer and two vocalists, Mitch Lucker and Tanner Womack. Shortly after their first performance, Womack was fired from the band and they released their first demo the following year. They released their second demo in 2004. By the proceeding year, the members took the band more seriously and were no-longer deemed as a side project, they would then advance to record their third and final demo in 2006 after the band recorded and released their first public studio quality material entitled, Suicide Silence EP which was released through Third Degree Records and later re-released in the UK through the English label In at the Deep End Records. Drummer, Josh Goddard departed from the band in 2006 and was replaced by Alex Lopez who was the former guitarist for the bands Blacheart Eulogy and The Funeral Pyre before his joining.

Death Angel is a thrash metal band from Concord, California, initially active from 1982 to 1991 and again since 2001. Death Angel has released seven studio albums, two demo tapes, one box set and two live albums.

Two independent releases, The Ultra-Violence (1987) and Frolic Through the Park (1988), attracted the attention of Geffen Records, which signed the quintet in 1989 and released their next album, Act III, one year later. While Death Angel was touring in support of Act III, drummer Andy Galeon was injured in a tour bus accident and needed more than a year to fully recover. This resulted in the band’s break up in 1991. However, Death Angel reformed in 2001 (without original guitarist Gus Pepa) at the Thrash of the Titans benefit concert for Testament singer Chuck Billy. The band continues to record and perform today.
