BROKEN HOPE PREMIERE NEW 360° VIDEO

Broken Hope just posted a sick new 360 degree video for their latest track “The Meek Shall Inherit Shit”’

Explore unique perspectives of the extreme and incredible art of Wes Benscoter and experience a kaleidosphere of death metal misanthropy at every turn in this all new interactive video.

While much of the album pays tributes to John Carpenter’s classic The Thing and John W. Campbell Jr’s short story Who Goes There (heed the title track “Mutilated and Assimilated” and brutal instrumental “Beneath Antarctic Ice”) The lyrics behind “The Meek Shall Inherit Shit” were actually inspired by the true horrors observed in the real world.

“The Meek Shall Inherit Shit” is a premonitory message about the increasingly irreversible dangers of global pollution. Guitarist and songwriter Jeremy Wagner further explains: “The Meek Shall Inherit Shit is a song I’ve been wanting to write lyrically for some time. I’m an environmentalist–a guy who considers environment, rather than heredity, as the primary influence on the development human beings. Homo sapiens are living in a shitpile. We constantly foul our nest, we are killing the planet, and we cause up to 2,000 extinctions every year. Look, I don’t want to get all hippy and political here. I just love the natural world so much and I hate what’s being done to it. It fucking pisses me off! And you can hear my anger in the lyrics and the music of this track.”

Jeremy Wagner of Broken Hope Interviewed “I’ve become what I call a death metal lifer, death metal for life for me.”

Broken Hope are gearing up to release their seventh studio album, Mutilated and Assimilated and have already unleashed two singles from their forthcoming death metal monster. First came the title track via lyric video directed by Tommy Jones, and featuring incredible illustrated storyboards by Mark Rudolph.

Guitarist and founding member Jeremy Wagner of Broken Hope was recently interrogated by Iron Serbian at an undisclosed location on the phone, enjoy the interview in the clip below…

Getting into music and metal….

I really got into Pink Floyd and a couple of years later I started discovering metal, like Judas Priest “Screaming For Vengeance”, i was like holy shit, this is great. The next thing is I moved to the next nearest big city from the country and MTV was on and there was so many heavy metal videos that were on at the time so I started to get turned onto all kinds of heavy metal bands and buying metal magazines, around 1984 – 85 when I heard Metallica “Ride The Lightning” that changed my life. That’s what made me want to become a metal guitar player and shorty after I was seeking out the heaviest music I could all the time, and I discovered Slayer “Hell Awaits” and then “Reign In Blood” came out, that changed my life again. I wanted to play faster, more extreme music. Reign In Blood evolved my tastes and passion for death metal and that’s where I’ve been ever since, I’ve become what I call a death metal lifer, death metal for life for me!

On using the late Slayer guitarist’s Jeff Hanneman guitars.

I also used exclusively one of Jeff Hanneman’s custom ESP’s for the entire tracking of the album, for all the rhythms, harmonies and stuff. When you hear the new album, that’s all Jeff Hannemn’s guitars basically through Broken Hope amplifiers.

Broken Hope premiere title track “Mutilated and Assimilated”

Horror aficionados Broken Hope pay tribute John Carpenter’s 1982 classic, The Thing with the worldwide premiere of title track, “Mutilated and Assimilated.”

Directed by Tommy Jones, and featuring illustrated storyboards by Mark Rudolph; the infectious essence of brutal death metal details the decimation of the living in this gripping audio-visual recount. You can almost feel your bones start to crumble as lacerating guitar riffs rip through terrified flesh, serenaded by the vocal infliction of delicious sonic wounds.

“As you watch and hear, the story of a monstrous alien thawed out of Antarctic ice unfolds in pure horror with a death metal soundtrack. The video was directed by Tommy Jones, who uniquely wove in BH concert footage from Berlin with incredible storyboards by the great Mark Rudolph. Mark Rudolph worked hard to create these amazing storyboards–much like legendary artist Mike Ploog did for the original movie.” elaborates guitarist Jeremy Wagner via Decibel. “Huge thanks to all our fans for waiting patiently for the new BH album and huge thanks to our friends at DECIBEL for giving us this platform to unleash this title track video. We hope you enjoy it! And remember: Only Death Is Real When Man Is the Warmest Place to Hide.”

BROKEN HOPE: Live Concert Blu-Ray/ Live Album Trailer Unveiled!‏

The LIVE DISEASE at BRUTAL ASSAULT Blu-Ray Concert DVD and Live Album will be released WORLDWIDE via CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS on September 18, 2015.

Chicago death-metal legacy band, BROKEN HOPE, have revealed the trailer for their first-ever Blu-Ray Concert DVD and Live album via Decibel Magazine! LIVE DISEASE at BRUTAL ASSAULT was filmed and recorded at the 19th Annual BRUTAL ASSAULT FESTIVAL at Fortress Josefov, CZECH REPUBLIC on August 8, 2014 where BROKEN HOPE shared the stage with DEVIN TOWNSEND, AMON AMARTH and other metal titans in front of 20,000+ fans.

The LIVE DISEASE at BRUTAL ASSAULT Blu-Ray Concert DVD and Live Album will be released WORLDWIDE via CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS on September 18, 2015.

This Live Concert Blu-Ray and Live Album are historic firsts as BROKEN HOPE has never before released a Live Concert DVD or Live album-until now! The concert was filmed by a multi-camera crew on a dozen pro-cameras and pieced together and edited by video-directing god, Tommy Jones (SLAYER, TESTAMENT, LAMB of GOD) while the audio was recorded by Thilo Fehlinger (EXODUS, DEATH ANGEL). Moreover, metal-art master, Mark Rudolph (DECIBEL MAGAZINE, METAL HAMMER MAGAZINE, CELTIC FROST) was commissioned to create all of the exterior and interior packaging and cover artwork.

The end result of this collaboration is one of the most visually and sonically stellar Death Metal DVD concert and Live Album packages ever released!

BROKEN HOPE founding-father-Jeremy Wagner-says:

“Playing BRUTAL ASSAULT in 2014 was a dream come true. Being one of the Main Stage acts at the fest in front of those thousands of insane fans was also a HUGE dream come true. And then…above all that…we had this epic moment captured by a pro video crew and also recorded by the best soundman in the biz, and it made for a perfect storm that enabled us to put it together to share with metal fans the world over to enjoy forever! We couldn’t have done all this without the mega-talent of TOMMY JONES…Tommy took a million pieces of footage and numerous audio files, pieced them all together, aligned everything, edited it all, and made for us (and the world), an absolutely stunning concert DVD! We even added the BROKEN HOPE Documentary-Film, “25 YEARS of SICKNESS-The History of BROKEN HOPE” to this Blu-Ray! This film was released only in North America with “OMEN of DISEASE’…now the entire world will have this amazing film-and in a HI-DEF Blu-Ray format! Last thing I wanna say is: the skills of THILO FEHLINGER, SCOTT CREEKMORE and CHRIS WISCO made our first-ever Live Album a loud, clear, and sonically-bombarding tour-de-force! This entire DVD/CD package is a monumental feather in our cap!”

“LIVE DISEASE” Video Director-Tommy Jones-adds:

“This BROKEN HOPE project has come out SO SICK! It has the quality and look of a high-end and polished commercial piece, but as a completely brutal, death metal concert experience. Definitely one of the COOLEST LOOKING live pieces I have been able to work on in the death metal genre. Really happy with how it all came together.”
