In the video below Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, Nirvana’s two surviving members, rock the same stadium again Saturday night in Seattle, as their bands played Safeco Field.
“You haven’t aged a day,” quipped Grohl, rock’s reigning goofball, as the unassuming Novoselic quietly walked on stage with a still-handed wave. With that, Foo Fighters — which also includes former Nirvana touring member Pat Smear — blasted through a spunky rendition of “Molly’s Lips,” the Vaselines cover made more famous when Nirvana’s version landed on the grunge heroes’ “Incesticide” rarities compilation. California extreme metal veterans Exhumed have entered the studio to record their highly anticipated sixth studio album and follow-up to 2013’s Necrocracy. The album will be entitled Death Revenge and will see a late 2017 release via Relapse Records.
Issues founding guitarist/vocalist Matt Harvey, “We entered the studio April 1st with our buddy Jarrett Pritchard (Gruesome, Goatwhore) to start the process and no, this is not an elaborate April Fool’s joke… All Guts, No Glory was more of a straight-up speeding attack, Necrocracy had a bit more focus on groove and incorporating some mid-paced stuff in there, and this one is gonna be a lot darker. It’s a concept album, which is a first for us, so expect some new twists on our tried-and-true formula: one part late ’80s death metal, half a cup of German/Canadian/Bay Area thrash, a dash of grindcore, crossover, and crust, and the occasional, well-concealed, Hall And Oates rip-off.”
In related news, Exhumed has confirmed a string of European tour dates this June which include a performance at Hellfest and follow their North American appearances at Modified Ghost Festival II in Vancouver and the Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore in May.

Black Breath is a band from Bellingham, Washington who moved to Seattle. They play death, black, and thrash metal influenced hardcore. A key factor of their sound is the “Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal Pedal”, which was popularized by bands such as Entombed, Dismember and Edge of Sanity in the early 90’s.
Black Breath began in 2005, playing local bars and house shows in Bellingham. They released a few demos, and toured the underground before finally recording an actual EP in 2008. In 2008 they released the Razor to Oblivion EP under their own label, Hot Mass Records. The EP gained attention in the local music underground and the band signed with Southern Lord Records, a Los Angeles based metal and hardcore punk oriented label, in October 2009. Black Breath toured across the country to support the EP as a support act for Victims, Rise and Fall, and Trap Them. Southern Lord then took over the distribution of the EP, which was re-released under the new label, and Black Breath went to the east coast to record their debut album, Heavy Breathing, at GodCity Studios, owned by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou. Heavy Breathing was released on March 30, 2010 by Southern Lord. Their second album titled Sentenced To Life was released March 27, 2012 on Southern Lord Records. In October of 2014 it was announced that Black Breath would be returning to GodCity Studios to record their follow up to Sentenced To Life for an early 2015 release
