Zombie Holocaust Spill the Guts on Slaughter by the Water: Nuclear Assault’s Unwanted PB&J, “Massive Attack” Controversy & More!
Bay Area thrash, questionable backstage stories, a possible Jackson 5 band anthem, and plenty of love for the local scene.
With the USS Hornet looming in the background and the Bay Area metal scene in full force, Slaughter by the Water returned for its third installment in Alameda, California. We caught up with Zombie Holocaust for a loose, hilarious conversation about the festival’s history, their favorite bands on the bill, the songs they love (and hate) playing live, and some unforgettable stories from years past.
From Nuclear Assault’s curious backstage request for peanut butter and jelly to a tongue-in-cheek discussion about the band’s song “Massive Attack,” Zombie Holocaust kept things entertaining. Along the way, the band reminisced about earlier Slaughter by the Water shows, paid tribute to the late Paul Baloff, and shared a message that every local music fan should take to heart.
