Fan Reportedly Dies After Stage Diving At MISS MAY I Concert In New York City

An audience member has reportedly died after stage-diving at metalcore band Miss May I’s show in the Studio at New York City’s Webster Hall on Saturday, May 3, the same night Against Me! played a sold-out show in the venue’s main concert space, the Grand Ballroom.

According to BrooklynVegan, the band posted a holdover statement to their Facebook page the following day until an official one was ready to be released. “Hey everyone,” they wrote, “we are aware of the incident that occurred at Webster Hall last night and will be posting a statement shortly. However, we are awaiting further information regarding the situation before we are able to make a full statement.”

Music journalism and freelance designing website Sinestra Studios has been collecting testimonials about the victim, who has been identified as 21-year-old Alberto Scott. Jenise Ramos Sarraga, who allegedly knew Scott through her daughter, has created a site to raise funds for the young man’s funeral expenses.
