Dead Gangsta Vibes, California Dreams, and the Road Ahead with BLAZE YA DEAD HOMIE

We caught up with Blaze Ya Dead Homie in sunny California to talk about music, memories, and the madness of modern life. From his hometown roots in Michigan to his latest tour, Blaze gave us a raw, real look into the mind behind the face paint.

Life’s Better in Cali (Sorry, Michigan)

Capital Chaos TV:
How are you liking this California weather?

Blaze:
Oh, it’s beautiful. Way better than back home. I heard they’re getting a foot of snow today! Apologies to everybody back there, but I’m enjoying California—I really am.

Mount Clemens Origins & Local Legends

Capital Chaos TV:
You’re originally from Mount Clemens, Michigan, right?

Blaze:
Yeah, it’s a small suburb outside of Detroit. Uncle Kracker’s from there too. I actually knew his family. They owned a gas station—Sonny’s Amoco—not far from our school. I hit that place a lot growing up.

Surviving Michigan’s Shift

Capital Chaos TV:
What’s Michigan like these days?

Blaze:
Man, it’s rough. People have moved out because of job loss and economic decline. It’s not about cars anymore—it started with Motown and music, and that’s what still beats at its heart. We’re still making music, keeping that soul alive.

The Flint Water Crisis Hits Close

Blaze:
One of our guys on tour is from Flint. He’s updating us daily. It’s really messed up—people use water for everything: cooking, washing, flushing. We’re trying to send some back. They need help.

The Character Behind the Paint

Capital Chaos TV:
Your persona is based on a dead gang member?

Blaze:
Yeah—from the late ‘80s, early ‘90s. That’s what I grew up with. N.W.A. was a huge influence. My character’s like an undead echo of that era—keeping it alive in a twisted way.

On Gangs, Juggalos & Loyalty

CCT:
Ever get caught up in gangs?

Blaze:
I knew people, yeah, but I wasn’t officially affiliated. We stuck together, had each other’s backs. I guess I did security for my boy—he hustled, and I looked out. I’m not with any crew now, just the Juggalos. That’s family.

The Casket Factory Era

Capital Chaos TV:
Your latest album, The Casket Factory, dropped in January?

Blaze:
Yep, January 15th. Brand new look, brand new me. Still rockin’ classics like “Ratchet” and “Worm Food,” though!

Capital Chaos TV:
Any fan-favorite tracks?

Blaze:
“Eternal” hits hard. It’s that bassline. People also love “Vampire” and “Two Middle Fingers.” The whole thing is packed—lots of flavor.

Hitting the Stage with the New Sound

Capital Chaos TV:
Are you performing most of the new album live?

Blaze:
About 75–80% of it, yeah. Some songs I can’t do without the featured artists, but most are in the set. You’ll hear it tonight.

Majik Ninja Magic

Capital Chaos TV:
This is your second release with Majik Ninja Entertainment?

Blaze:
Yeah, it’s been great. I’ve known these guys since the ‘90s. We moved from Psychopathic to doing our own thing. All love to Psychopathic, but I’m doing more work now—putting out more music, more often.

Videos & Visuals

Capital Chaos TV:
How many music videos do you have out?

Blaze:
Two are out now, a third drops soon. A fourth’s in the works, and we’re planning a live one while we’re out here. Videos are a big part of what I do—bringing the theatrics to life.

Metal Roots & Musical Melting Pot

Capital Chaos TV:
Any love for metal or King Diamond?

Blaze:
I’ve heard of King Diamond—never listened, but I’ll check him out. We wear the same black and white, so maybe there’s a connection!

Capital Chaos TV:
Was rock a big influence?

Blaze:
For sure. My brother was into Ozzy and AC/DC. I tagged along. With five sisters and two brothers, I heard everything—George Clinton, punk, Michael Bolton even. I soaked up all kinds of music.

Family, Fights & Finding Harmony

Blaze:
My older brother played drums. We didn’t get along until I turned 18 and we started smoking weed together. After that, we clicked. He’s back now, sometimes playing drums to my tracks. Music brought us together.

Cats, Dogs & Craft Beer

Blaze:
I had cats all my life. Now I’ve got three dogs and two cats. I used to drink Olde English but got into craft beer—trying new things. I had Not Your Father’s Root Beer last night. Solid.

Comics, Books & Unexpected Passions

Capital Chaos TV:
Do you read much?

Blaze:
Hell yeah. I’m into graphic novels—The Walking Dead, 100 Bullets, Y: The Last Man. I even read all the Game of Thrones books after getting hooked on the show. I used to hate reading, but now I get lost in it.

Musical Mood Swings

Blaze:
I’m a mood music guy. On the drive out here we listened to Stevie Wonder—keeps the energy up. I’m always trying to expose the crew to old-school stuff. We’ll also bump Metallica or Ozzy. I’m trying to learn more about new metal too.

What’s Next?

Blaze:
Still touring a few more weeks, then off to Canada with Twiztid. After that, back to the States for more shows. I’m working on a new record, plus a project with ROC called Zodiac Imprint—that’ll drop later this year. Just keeping the music flowing.
