Phil Lewis, frontman of legendary rock band L.A. Guns, sat down with Capital Chaos TV to talk about the band’s latest album The Devil You Know, his punk influences, reuniting with Tracii Guns, and the ever-changing landscape of the music industry. From vocal warm-ups to Instagram disdain, nothing was off-limits in this wide-ranging, no-holds-barred conversation.

Phil Lewis:
Well, I still spend a lot of time in L.A., but to be honest, it just got a little too crowded for me. A lot of people there don’t really need to be there.
You know, it’s a shame. Every time I go back, it seems like a little bit of history has been erased. Like, where the House of Blues used to be on Sunset—now they’re building this monstrous tower, and that kind of thing upsets me a bit.
But I guess that happens everywhere. It’s just one of those things about getting older. You can’t expect things to stay like they were when you were in your twenties forever. You just have to accept it.
At one time, they were even talking about demolishing the Hollywood sign to put condos up there!
