Bulldozer’s upcoming tour, ‘40 Years Of Wrath Across The West Coast,’ has been greatly anticipated by their loyal legions of fans across the globe.
During the tape-trading days in the early 80’s, one of the most effective ways to get heard was being included on a compilation record with like-minded bands. Bulldozer’s entry on the ‘Speed Kills’ (1985) album – featuring heavyweights such as Exodus, Metallica, Megadeth, Celtic Frost, Possessed, Voivod, Slayer, Venom, and more – catapulted the band into the big leagues and included the album’s strongest, yet darkest track, “Insurrection Of The Living Damned.” Ultimately, the record helped increase the band’s visibility and was a great tool to help sell their debut album on Roadrunner Records, ‘The Day Of Wrath.’

Although bandleader and original member, AC Wild, hasn’t been as prolific as his long-time fans would have liked, Metal Mind Productions released ‘Regenerated in the Grave,’ a fabulous box set back in 2006 featuring the first four (and arguably, most important) Bulldozer records and one live collection replete with full lyric sheets. There’s even a thoughtful, well-written foreword that tells the story of this Italian cult band.
Additionally, vinyl freaks will be pleased to know F.O.A.D. records also issued an even more encompassing assortment dubbed ‘Ride Hard Die Fast’ with seven 12” records. It includes a rare, bonus tribute album featuring 9 underground bands including (but not limited to) Toxic Holocaust, Witchburner, Sabbat, Meads Of Asphodel, Imperial, and Cripple Bastards.

For those keeping score, it’s been fourteen years since the group released their last album of new original music, the fabulous ‘Unexpected Fate’ on Scarlet Records. With any luck, we’ll see some new material by late next year.
For those fans who haven’t seen their performances on the East Coast or at festivals on YouTube, it’s not a stretch to say their four decades-old material sounds even better with the new (er) line-up. At present, the touring band features founder Alberto “AC Wild” Contini (vocals), Andy Panigada (guitar), Emanuele “Manu” Collato (drums), Ghiulz Borroni (guitar), Giovanni “G.C.” Contini (keyboard), and Alessandro Pozza (bass).
Atlantean Collective presents this totally stacked bill which also features Virginia’s Deceased, South Carolina’s Demiser, and Kansas City’s Ares Kingdom. Doors open at 7pm and the all-ages show starts promptly at 8pm. Tickets are $20 advance and can be purchased at here at harlows.com. The Starlet Room is located above Harlow’s at 2708 J Street in downtown Sacramento.
