The SacAnime machine is wasting no time presenting yet another fun, anime-filled gathering in the first week of the new year. For those wondering if there will be enough activities to keep your attention, you’re all in for a real treat.
The first SacAnime 2024 installment features voice personality Stephanie Sheh (Sailor Moon, Naruto), Kitty Kaboom (cosplay guest), actor Brennan Mejia (Power Rangers Dino Charge), non-binary voice actor Marisa Duran (Attack On Titan, Horimiya, Hell’s Paradise), and the Aimai Mirai band (to name but a few).
Expect Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic CCG tournaments, console gaming and tournaments from SAK Gaming, Lorcana Trading Card Game tournaments, and one of the coolest pop-up arcade experiences courtesy of Save Point. Also be sure to check out the Kpop/Jpop battles along with live music showcases at the upstairs SacLive stage.
Additionally, there will be displays of art, manga contests, countless vendors selling their wares, and lots of great people watching opportunities. There’s even a Starlight Ball (additional ticket required) on Saturday night which serves as a ‘Geek Prom’ rather than a formal ball.
Ghost Girl Goods, a Toronto-based clothing brand fusing kawaii, will also be on hand and scouting for models. Be sure to dress to impress as your favorite Japanese character and expect some outlandish costumes from your favorite anime productions.
Friday admission is $25, Saturday is $35, and Sunday tickets are only $20. Single day tickets are $5 more day of event. Full weekend ticket packages are $50 in advance and $60 at the door.
