EWF front man Philip Bailey has one of the most recognizable and angelic voices in R&B
circles. As evidenced by his falsetto and ability to hold notes longer than should be humanly
possible, Bailey is still one of the biggest reasons the band’s hungry fans still come out en
masse.
Since forming in 1969, EWF have sold a staggering 100 million plus records and earned
themselves countless accolades including their induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
back in 2000. With 23 albums under their belt, it would seem they have little to prove. And
while their last full-length was ‘Now, Then & Forever’ over 13 years ago, the band’s hit-driven
catalog has been their calling card.
“Reasons,” “Shining Star,” “September,” “After The Love Has Gone,” “Let’s Groove,”
“Fantasy,” and a handful of other greats will be on the menu for this special evening-with
show that will close out the band’s 2023 touring season.

The live band is rounded out and anchored by core members Verdine White (bass guitar) and
Ralph Johnson (percussion and backing vocals) along with a backing band that includes the
fabulous Morris O’Connor (lead guitar, vocals), Philip Bailey Jr. (vocals, percussion), and
John Paris (drums, vocals), to name just a few. All of the remaining current members have
been in the band more than a decade.
2024 also looks to be a busy year as Earth, Wind & Fire and Chicago join together for the
‘Heart & Soul 2024 Tour’ playing amphitheaters and arenas. The live pairing of heritage acts
spans across 30 cities and kicks off on July 10 in St. Louis, MO and ends in Palm Desert, CA
on September 7.
Tickets start at $109.95 with the priciest seats stopping out at $199.95 and can be purchased
at thundervalleyresort.com. The show starts promptly at 8pm. 21 and over only.
Attendees aged 13 to 20 must be accompanied by adult 21 and over. The Venue is located
inside Thunder Valley Resort at 1200 Athens Avenue in Lincoln.
