FLOTSAM and JETSAM “I Am the Weapon” (AFM Records)

Just in time for their much-awaited live performance at this year’s Wacken Open Air festival, metal titan’s Flotsam and Jetsam release the video for the song “New Kind of Hero” promoting the new eleven track album “I Am the Weapon”, which I personally believe to be their fastest release as of date, which will hit shelves on Friday, September 15th via AFM/Believe records.

Listening to the new record, is like standing in the path, of the running of the bulls, which in an era, where everyone is interested in the latest innovations, Flotsam and Jetsam having been around for almost four decades, coming out of Phoenix, Arizona, regularly releasing new stuff, touring relentlessly, they have never shown signs of weakening or wavering where they originated as a band.

This being their fifteenth record, since the debut opus “Doomsday for the Deceiver in 1986. This one recorded and produced by the whole band at SonicPhish Studios, Gnome Lord Studios, Wayne Manor Studios & Seventh Spike Studios deserves its confidence title 100%. The killer cover artwork once again done by Andy Pilkington.

There are ever signs of storms brewing with Festival Season in the horizon. “We did almost a complete month of touring through Canada and the States, ending in Brazil and this summer we’re slated at Graspop, Dynamo & Wacken, and we will also be doing some shows between those festivals as well. We are looking forward to seeing all out friends across the pond.” said drummer Ken Mary.
