On September 17, San Francisco’s historic Great American Music Hall will host an unmissable night of heavy, genre-blurring music as Baroness returns to the Bay Area with their RED & BLUE Tour: Part II, joined by the sludgy, Southern-fried doom of Weedeater.
Fresh off a sold-out East Coast run, Baroness is now bringing the second leg of their intimate tour westward, treating fans to full-album performances of their seminal records, Red Album (2007) and Blue Record (2009). These two releases not only introduced the world to the band’s distinct blend of crushing riffs and melodic finesse, but also laid the groundwork for a two-decade career defined by musical evolution and emotional intensity.
Expect over 90 minutes of immersive, high-energy performance, from the driving psychedelia of “Isak” to the soaring beauty of “The Sweetest Curse.” Longtime fans will relish this rare opportunity to hear deep cuts and fan favorites that have largely disappeared from live sets in recent years.
Baroness frontman John Baizley shared his excitement:
“The first leg of the tour through the Northeast was such a blast that we knew we may have to add a second leg… We’ll be playing through the entirety of both records. Get yourselves ready for 90+ minutes of intense rock music.”
Adding extra low-end weight to the night, Weedeater will open the show with their signature blend of whiskey-soaked sludge metal. Known for their gritty live shows and crushing tones, the North Carolina trio are the perfect counterpart to Baroness’s melodic progressivism.
Fans will also be able to get their hands on exclusive, tour-only vinyl releases featuring newly crafted artwork by Baizley himself, along with Red and Blue-themed merchandise available only on this tour.
