The Bay Area underground metal scene has no shortage of passionate promoters, but few have made an impact as quickly as Christina of Sinister Sounds. In just over a year, she’s gone from booking local shows to launching Sinister Sounds Fest, a two-day celebration of doom, stoner, thrash, and death metal that’s quickly becoming a must-attend event for heavy music fans.
In this exclusive interview, Christina discusses the challenges of growing a promotion company, her artist-first philosophy, why community always comes before profit, and her ambitious plans for expanding Sinister Sounds into a full-fledged record label and touring organization. Along the way, she shares stories about vintage toy collecting, the biggest mistakes bands make, and even assembles the ultimate doom metal band made entirely of monsters.

Introduce yourself, what exactly is it that you do? Explain all the irons you have in the fire.
Okay. I’m Christina with Sinister Sounds, and I do band management, touring, booking, and put on shows all over California right now. I’m hoping to extend into different states and different countries. I also work in Las Vegas, Nevada, Arizona, and a couple of other states, but mostly California.
The big thing I have coming up is a two-day festival called Sinister Sounds Fest (TICKET LINK), and that is two nights of the heaviest music on the planet.
With passion driving every decision, Christina isn’t just booking shows—she’s helping build the future of the underground, one stage at a time.
