Federico Mondelli of FROZEN CROWN: “Six Kings, No Servants”

After years of relentless touring and lineup changes, the Italian power metal outfit has arrived at a new chapter with The Legend of the Six Kings — an album that feels more immediate, cinematic, and live-driven than its predecessor, Warheart.

For guitarist and founding member Federico Mondelli, the key to the new record was chemistry. After spending an entire summer playing live, followed by a Japanese tour, the members had developed a natural musical synergy that they were able to bring directly into the studio.

The result is an album built around six musicians rather than a traditional frontman-and-backing-band hierarchy. And that idea is reflected directly in the title.
