Although East Coast hard rockers Extreme started the 2nd leg of their ‘Thicker Than Blood
Tour’ back in late January, the Wheatland show is one of the last dates with Living Colour in
the US before they join the Monsters of Rock Cruise with The Darkness, Joe Satriani, April
Wine, Y&T, Winger and more. Touring on the strength of their aptly-titled sixth record – ‘Six’
on the earMusic label – the reception to their new material is the kind most heritage rock
bands dream of.

For the uninitiated, the band struck gold and then some with the release of their sophomore
album, ‘Extreme II: Pornograffitti,’ which spawned the acoustic smash hit “More Than
Words” in 1989. Through constant touring in clubs and theaters across the states, it was only
a matter of time before the band would be a major headlining sensation both at home and
abroad. Besides being featured on both the ‘Bill & Ted ‘s Excellent Adventure’ (1989)
soundtrack and the more current ‘Stranger Things’ Netflix series, they’ve sold an astounding
10 million-plus records and show no signs of slowing down on the live front.
Today Extreme is rounded out by core members Nuno Bettencourt (guitar), Pat Badger
(bass), and Gary Cherone (vocals) along with longtime drummer Kevin Figueiredo. And
while the quartet have not released as many records as their fans would have wished, their
current tour couldn’t be better timed given the heaps of praise loaded onto guitarist
extraordinaire Bettencourt during a now-viral Rick Beato interview.
Said Bettencourt about their current run of shows, “We have been absolutely blown away by
all of the love and support during the first leg of the Thicker Than Blood Tour. You all have
shown up and brought it every night and we could not be more grateful. No matter how great
a band believes they are, you cannot achieve your dreams of touring the world and doing
what you love most, performing, without your fans.”
As luck would have it, the band will head back overseas last this year with an itinerary that
includes (but is not limited to) London, Milan, Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Belgium,
and more. They’ve already finished a highly successful first US leg and have already brought
the noise to both Australia and Japan.
Extreme and Living Colour play Sunday, February 25th at The Hard Rock Live located in
Wheatland at 3317 Forty Mile Road. Doors open at 7pm and the show kicks off at 8pm.
Tickets start at $29.50 and are available here at ticketmaster.com. All ages are welcome.
