On June 3rd, the thrash metal band, and I mean “thrash” metal band, ASHES REBORN, was born out of Portugal. They released their fourth record, “In Captivity”, released via Firecum Records, and it just continues, to rip your face off without skipping a beat at all.
With the enraged growling vocals from Alfredo Teixeira and some of the best drum work I’ve heard in a long time from Ze Carlos. This guy just doesn’t let up once.
Throughout all eight tracks on this release, it’s just a brutal attack on all human senses, leaving you bewildered afterwards. But not enough to where you can’t throw it back on to experience it. again. Unless you care that your neighbors are banging on the wall,.
Recorded this March at the NMH studio in Portugal, produced and mastered by Teninho. The amazing artwork for the cover art is by Nogueira. My boss said I can’t say the F word, but these guys are Fing kick butt!! The theme of the album focuses on political corruption and the hidden monetary interests in warfare. Sound familiar?!
The band stays true to its roots, while exploring these complex and challenging subjects, going on in the world, you’ll get the gist once you buy this record! There is not a bad song on this record. But if I had to pick a favorite, I’d say the fourth one, “Forced to Fight for a Cause You Do Not Believe“.
