D.R.I. + Authors of Fate, Parabellum, Unprovoked & Nova Sutro – October 11, 2025 – Goldfield Trading Post – Roseville, CA – Concert Review & Photos

By Christopher Crone

Man, what a night! Goldfield was buzzing Saturday—packed wall to wall, beers in the air, pits swirling, and that unmistakable smell of sweat, leather, and distortion. The kind of night that reminds you why live music is therapy.

Nova Sutro opened things up and came out swinging with “Fight Night.” These guys set the bar early—tight riffs, killer groove, and a confidence that owned the stage from the jump. They capped their set with a seriously fun twist—a cover of “Lowrider” that had the whole room vibing. Didn’t think I’d ever see a pit break out to War, but hey, 2025 keeps surprising me.

Then Unprovoked hit, and holy hell, they were feral. Opening with “Make a War”, they unleashed pure adrenaline. The drums were like jackhammers, and the crowd went full mayhem mode. By the time they closed with “12 Gauge Rage,” the floor looked like a war zone—moshers, horns up, everyone feeding off the chaos.

Parabellum followed, and if the energy wasn’t maxed out already, these guys detonated it. Starting with “Behold,” they were all over the stage—jumping, screaming, thrashing like they had jet fuel in their veins. The crowd went absolutely nuts. Somewhere mid-set, I spotted a strange figure in the photo pit beside me. Wait… that was Harold Oimoem—in disguise! Yeah, you read that right. The guy’s a legend, but even legends like to sneak into the action now and then. Parabellum wrapped with “Amosh”, and the place was a sweaty, beautiful mess.

Then came Authors of Fate, and they absolutely owned the night. They opened with “Heart Worked”, and from the first note, it felt different—intense but emotional, heavy but meaningful. Their frontman had this magnetic presence, pulling the crowd in with every word. The dual guitars locked perfectly—melody and muscle in equal measure. Their closer, “You Will One Day Be Thought of for the Last Time,” hit like a gut punch. The room went still for a second after that—like everyone needed to process what they’d just felt. These guys aren’t just another metal band—they’re storytellers with riffs sharp enough to cut glass.

And then, D.R.I.. No intros needed. The pioneers of crossover thrash walked out and turned back time. From the first riff, it was pure, unfiltered D.R.I.—fast, raw, and relentless. The pit exploded again (because of course it did), and for a few glorious moments, Goldfield felt like a thrash time machine.

By the end of the night, everyone was drenched, grinning, and probably a little deaf—just how it should be. Goldfield Trading Post once again proved it’s the place to catch the heaviest shows in Roseville.
