Cannibal Corpse – “A Skeletal Domain” Review

The new Cannibal Corpse album “A Skeletal Domain” due out September 16, 2014 is one hell of a beast of an album!  From start to finish it doesn’t disappoint.  Some notable tracks are the title track “A Skeletal Domain”, The opening track “High Velocity Impact Splatter”, “Sadistic Embodiment”, and “Icepick Lobotomy”.  The band sounds tighter and more driven than ever.  Corpsegrinder’s vocals are still just as strong as ever.  He still sounds like a demonic ghoul from the darkest depths of Hell preaching to the Metal Masses!

Let us hope that they have a U.S. tour next year with the same ferocity as “A Skeletal Domain” with a lineup to match it.  As it stands we are looking at a possible U.S. for early next year after they are done with Japan and Europe this fall.  This album is right on par with earlier releases from the band and it is definitely their best since “Kill.”  So, all in all make sure and pick it up in two weeks…you won’t be disappointed!  Jon Rexius/Capital Chaos TV

Album Review – Triptykon “Melana Chasmata”

Melana Chasmata is the second full-length album by Swiss extreme metal band Triptykon, released through Prowling Death Records/Century Media Records on 14 April 2014 in Europe and on 15 April 2014 in North America. Melana Chasmata follows in the nightmare created by its predecessor Eparistera Daimones quite stylishly and effectively. “Eparistera Daimones”, the album was produced by Triptykon’s singer/guitarist Tom Gabriel Warrior and guitarist V. Santura and recorded and mixed at V. Santura’s own Woodshed Studio in southern Germany as well as at Triptykon’s rehearsal facilities in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2013 and 2014.

Like so many before them, Metallica “Ride The Lightning” and Iron Maiden “Killers” to name a few the band has truly found their way on this sophomore release. From the opening feedback squeal of “Tree of Suffocating Souls” to the final crusher “Waiting” the album is a pulverizing celebration of doom and despair, compete with artwork once again by legendary Swiss surrealist painter, sculptor, and set designer
H. R. Giger. Must have for fans of doom, death and all thing’s heavy metal…..pre-order here.
